Jamaican royalty David “Ziggy”
Marley, the oldest son of 13 children of
reggae icon, Bob Marley, brought his
talented musical style to the MontBleu
showroom. Since the passing of his
legendary father in 1981, Ziggy and his
brothers and sisters have carried on
with many records with, “The Melody
Makers”. He is a 5-time Grammy
winner that went solo in 2003. The
42 year old told the excited audience,
“I’ve got reggae in my head”, as he
sang the song. With a big heart for
a backdrop on stage, “love is my
religion”, he told us with a big smile as
he delighted everyone with the song.
Ziggy has long dreads that sway back
and forth as he sings and plays guitar.
Songs from his new album “Wild and
Free”, his dad’s classic songs, and
many hits with positive words to make
you feel good. He’s also branched
out into many projects that include a
documentary, “Marley African Road
Trip”, albums for children that had
guest artist Paul Simon, Willie Nelson
and Jack Johnson on it, and many
charities he’s involved in. Opening
for Ziggy was Trevor Hall, a 22 year
old with a big future ahead of him.
His reggae, pop, hip-hop, rock sound
created a good vibe. His acoustic
guitar playing and song writing blend
together with a cool groove. Check
out their websites and CD’s. Also look
for Ziggy’s comic book super hero that
saves the world by using hemp.
Another big show that was at
MontBleu was alternative rock stars,
30 Seconds to Mars. Coming October
4th - Dark Star Orchestra, Grateful
Dead Tribute - October 28th, Game
- November 5th, Christopher Titus November 26th Bush. Opal and Blu
Nightclubs feature DJ’s, live music,
body painting, go-go dancers and
great drink specials.
Harrah’s has Dave Mason October
28th, Tommy Castro, Coco Montoya
and Friends October 15th, Frank
Sinatra Jr. on October 22nd, Adam
Richman from Man vs Food October
29th, The Blues Broads November
5th, Foghat November 12th, Penn
and Teller November 18th and Jonny
Lang November 19th. The wild and
crazy magic stars, Penn and Teller, are
so fun to see. Mixing comedy, illusions,
and slight of hand, magic and bazaar
tricks that you’ll love! I love these guys,
great performers with a true unique
act.
Vex Nightclub packs them in on
Friday and Saturday with cool DJ
music, amazing aerials with beautiful
women, go-go dancers and drink
specials. Halloween is huge in Tahoe
with parties.
The 33rd Annual Freakers Ball
at MontBleu on October 29th is the
biggest party with 3 rooms full of wild
costumes and good times. October 29
& 31Vex Nightclub has Halloween
parties that will also be a lot of fun
with everyone’s creative outfits. Mo’s
Place on October 30th will go off
big. Whiskey Dick's, Cabo Wabo
and Murphy's Irish Pub also have
Halloween parties. I’ll photo shoot
hundreds of pictures for Tahoe to enjoy.
Tony Drew, the publisher and I will
put together the Halloween pictorial
issue for November. With all the sexy
costumes, creative and unique outfits
and the unreal thought ideas people
come up with; the Halloween issue in
November is always fun to check out.
The 9th Annual Kiwanis Club
of Tahoe Sierra SeptOberfest at
MontBleu with German food, wine and
beer tasting, music, silent auctions,
envelope prizes, stein holding, and
George Alm, from KRLT 93.9, doing
live auctions and entertaining the
crowd, along with the beautiful German
maidens who help out and add their
cute smiles, made for a great event
that makes money to help our Tahoe
community.
The Improv at Harveys, Cabo
Wabo, and Straw Hat Pizza sport
bar, have the laughs, live and DJ
music, food and drink specials, with
lots of TV’s for sports. Horizon has
Bethany Owen with impressions of
Cher, Joan Rivers, Madonna, Marilyn
Monroe, Patsy Cline, Judy Garland,
Shania Twain, Dolly, Reba and so
many more mixed with comedy.
Bethany is so talented and you’ll enjoy
this show. Whiskey Dick’s has a
variety of music and DJ’s. They have
great drink specials and 100 beers to
choose from. You can get food from
Fat City menu also. The Flight Deck
at the airport has live music and great
food and drink specials. Wednesday at
6:00-10:00pm “Kill the Keg” for $5, $1
off appetizers and live music with Rob
and Friends. For five bucks, you drink
till you kill the keg!

Straw Hat Pizza Sports Bar & Grill
SATURDAY
COLLEGE
FOOTBALL,
SUNDAY
TICKET,
BASEBALL, NASCAR & EVERY
OTHER SPORTING EVENT. Straw
Hat Pizza Sports Bar & Grill is a sports
junkie’s mecca. Located on the main
casino floor inside Harveys, this is the
local’s gem.
I met some buddies at Straw Hat
Pizza Sports Bar & Grill on Saturday at
10am to watch college football. When
you walk in, you instantly feel the
vibe. Place filled with every level of
sports fan cheering and having a good
time, signed jersey and other sports
memorabilia everywhere, bartenders
pouring solid drinks, and the smell of
fresh made pizza and burgers filled
the air.
I have to say, the pizza is dynamite!
They make their dough fresh every
day and they load on the toppings.
The “Works” is their signature pizza
with pepperoni, salami, ham, sausage,
ground beef, linguica, bell peppers,
olives and mushrooms—to die for!
The burgers are big, juicy and made
from OVERLAND’S beef. Kudos to
Straw Hat for supporting the local
butcher. All sandwiches, burgers and
Hot Hats come with fresh cut fries from
Kennebec potatoes or sweet potato
fries. There is such a selection with
appetizers, a huge salad bar, made to
order pastas and so much more.
I sat at the bar all day cheering
on my favorite team, sipping beer
and eating good food. Tahoe is now
complete with Straw Hat Pizza Sports
Bar & Grill. They are open late on the
weekends and opens at 10am every
Saturday and Sunday for the games.

Another Late Night with LateNiteBilly
Summer is officially gone and it
definitely was short but sweet! We
started it off with a bang with the
Summer Solstice Reggae Beach
Party (with Jon Wayne and the Pain
and Mystic Roots) and ended it the
same with two sold out shows for
the Phish Afterparties with Melvin
Seals and JGB! I spent most of
the Summer focusing on my new
business LateNitePartyGirls (www.
LateNitePartyGirls.com) and it is
already bigger than I would have ever
expected! It's hard to believe Winter is
right around the corner but I'm getting
ready now! Lots of great shows in the
works and lots to be excited about. I'm
proud to say that we have brought on
Sierra at Tahoe again as out exclusive
resort sponsor, 15+ years straight!
Sierra employees will continue to get
stoked out with free concert tickets all
Winter and you can count on catching
your favorite Artist and Celebrities on
the Mountain as they enjoy riding and
skiing at Sierra when the come up to
perform for us!
While we are on the subject of
Sierra at Tahoe, I need to tell you about
our annual Halloween Party at Mo's
Place as Sierra will be giving away a
full season pass as the Grand Prize
of the costume contest! That's rright,
Mo's Haunted Mansion (yes, it really
is haunted - if you have ever been
there after hours, you know!) is back in
action for the BIGGEST and SEXIEST
Halloween Party outside the Casino's
on Sunday, October 30th. Over $1000
in cash and prizes including the Sierra
at Tahoe Season Pass for best overall
costume, $250 cash for the sexiest
female and $250 cash for the sexiest
male! The party will be hosted by
yours truly, LateNiteBilly alongside
the LateNitePartyGirls! Drink specials
all night and music by one of Tahoe's
hottest DJ's, Keenan, playing Hip-Hop
and Electro on the monster Late-Nite
Sound System. Don't miss Tahoe's
hottest locals Halloween Party!
Definitely my favorite time of year
when we see all the new faces rolling
into town for the Winter! Now it's time
for me to get pack to the grind in the
office and start putting together the best
Winter lineup to date. That's it for now
Tahoe but next month I will be ready to
start announcing some of these shows
I keep talking about. As always, thanks
for the years of support and keep
keeping the vibe alive! ~LateNiteBilly

COMEDY FROM THE MOUNTAIN
October is probably my favorite
month. I think because the trees start
changing colors, there’s a hint that winter
is just around the corner and of course
Halloween. Love Halloween especially
here in Tahoe. Another reason I love
October is the screening of comedian
Bob Zany’s documentary, “Close But
No Cigar” Sunday, October 9 @ The
Heavenly Village Cinema. This is in
conjunction with Bob being up here
October 5th through the 9th at The
Improv. This is the world premiere and
to have the screening the same week
that the filmmaker/comedian/actor is
performing up here makes it that much
better. The screening is at 6pm and
tickets are $25 with proceeds going to
The Pet Network which finds homes for
dogs and cats in the Lake Tahoe basin.
Jana from The Heavenly Village Cinema
is also going to let us use the theater’s
lobby area for a reception immediately
following the screening. There will also
be a Q & A with both Zany and the
film’s director, Jay Kanzler. This isn’t
the first movie that Zany has appeared
in. Zany played a lawyer opposite Matt
Damon in the “The Informant!” and also
opposite Linda Blair in “Up Your Alley.”
He just finished wrapping on his latest,
“23 Minutes to Sunrise” (also directed
by Kanzler) starring Eric Roberts and
Nia Peeples. The movie is slated to be
released next year. As the proprietor
of “The Zany Report” (heard coast to
coast on 160 radio outlets) Bob takes
a different slant on contemporary topics
and heard exclusively on my morning
radio show every Tuesday. Bob is like a
throw back to the comedy of yesteryear
with his sarcastic one-liners, put downs
and self-deprecating sense of humor.
He’s what you night call an ‘Old School’
comic and often uses the audience as
part of his stand up. He has worked
with and produced various comedy
shows over the years (decades again)
and has earned a solid reputation for
being very professional and is a joy to
work with. His comedy shows featured
such newcomers-at-the-time
Garry
Shandling, Yakov Smirnoff, Robert Wuhl,
Kevin Nealon and Nia Peeples to name
but a few. After one show Zany was
approached by Frazier Smith, the host
of a top-rated radio show on KLOS/LA.
After a short time doing guest spots on
Frazier’s show Zany was hired by KLOS
as a personality with his own show on
Saturday mornings. His style began at
an early age way back when, at the
not-so-tender age of fifteen the native
Southern Californian appeared on “The
Gong Show.” Yes, that Gong Show
which was hosted by Chuck Barris.
Halfway through his stand-up routine
(which he read from a piece of paper)
he was pulled off the stage by a man
dressed like a nun wielding a net. Eleven
years later Zany would reappear to make
a triumphant return to “The Gong Show”
but this time as a celebrity judge and not
a contestant. From that point Zany would
make well over a100 national television
appearances. Speaking of television
I just saw him on Showtime in this
documentary about the art of stand up
called, “I am Comic” which was hilarious
so it made sense that Zany would be
a part of the program. Bob Zany has
several CDs out including “Hi Home,
I'm Honey” on Laff Records, “Bob Zany
B to Z, Bay-bee!” and “Son of Bingle,
His Greatest Hits, Bay-bee!” Appearing
with Zany is another personal favorite,
Graham Elwood. Graham is a regularon
my radio show every Thursday with his
weekly segment, “Graham’s Crackers.”
The Chicago native has appeared on
numerous television programs which
include “The Test” (F/X Network) , “The
Late Late Show”(CBS) and as host of
the USA Network show, “Strip Poker.”
Graham directed a short indie movie
entitled “Hello Junkie” which received nice
reviews at the prestigious Sundance Film
Festival as well as The Albuqueque Film
Festival in New Mexico. It was Graham
(along with comedian Scott Kennedy)
who I went overseas with to perform for
the troops in Kuwait and Iraq. Graham’s
performed in the Middle East five times
and chronicled his experience over there
in a DVD entitled, “Comedy From the
Front Lines: Live From Afghanistan.”
Having both Elwood and Zany this week
is a blast and one not to miss. Again,
they’re both up here October 5th through
the 9th with Zany’s movie. “Close But No
Cigar” getting its premiere screening up
here Sunday, October 9 @ 6pm over at
The Heavenly Village Cinema. Be there.
Other highlights this month include
Rondell Sheridan who is probably best
known as the star of the hit Disney
TV series, “That’s So Raven” Rondell
is like this father figure for millions of
Americans in part because he plays a
few fatherly figures on the small screen.
Get this: in addition to his “That’s So
Raven” character he played the dad
figure on the Nickelodeon series,
“Cousin Skeeter” and as an uncle on
“Cory in the House” (where he played
part uncle, part babysitter and part adult
friend that you could confide in). Rondell
has also done extensive work behind
the camera directing an episode of
Disney’s Hannah Montana and multiple
episodes of both “That’s So Raven” and
“Cory in the House.” He’s also been on
non-family programs too such as “The
Tonight Show” with Jay Leno” (and also
when Carson was host), “Late Night
with Conan O’Brien,” “Politically Incorrect
with Bill Maher” and starred in cable
specials for both Showtime
and Comedy Central.
Appearing with Rondell
is Dana Eagle and I couldn’t
be more excited. Dana has
only been here only one time
before and that was over two
years ago. Her humor runs the
gambit of self-deprecating,
offbeat, silly, intellectual but
always hilarious. “I used to
think I liked myself but then
I realized I was just using
me to get to someone else.
Studies now show that eighty
percent of us suffer from
depression and the other
twenty percent of you cause
it.” Dana has appeared on
Comedy Central’s “Premium
Blend” in addition to national
commercials and getting
the hosting position on the
Oxygen Network. Showtime
commissioned Dana to write
and film her own comic
interstitials for their premiere
channel ShowNEXT. She was showcased
in HBO’s US Comedy Arts Festival in her
solo show, “Stones From Glass Houses”
followed by the second in the series,
“Mood Disorders: A Light-Hearted Romp
Through Crippling Depression.” Rondell
and Dana October 12th through the 16th.
Howie Nave is the host/emcee/
manager of The Improv @ Harveys
every Wednesday through Sunday
and also hosts his own morning show
(“Howie’s Morning Rush”) on 93.9 KRLT
radio Monday through Friday from 6
to 10am. Howie also writes a weekly
comedy column in Action Magazine and
gets the same pay as he does here
whoring himself out for The Lake Tahoe
Entertainer: nada. Oh yeah, his DVD,
“Live From Lake Tahoe” is currently
available after his shows nightly or you
can order a copy on his website, www.
Howienave.com and make sure you
check him out on Facebook at http://
www.facebook.com/howie.nave.

The pocket water in the canyon is good
and the upper sections have been good
as well. The meadow needs a stealthy
approach but is holding some nice fish!
Swing a Prince Nymph under any of the
bridges and hang on; the stocking trucks
have left a bunch of toys under the tree!
East Walker River Fishing ReportFlows are 230+ cfs.
The flows have finally come down
and it has made a huge difference. The
wading is doable and the fish are still
spread out! The River is fishing very well
with mornings still fishing the best. As our
days cool, fishing is getting better through
out the day. Dries have taken off with the
fish eating Hoppers and Bigger orange
patterns. Nymphing has been the most
productive using small Midge, Mayfly and
Caddis patterns. Frequent fly changes
help to keep these Browns and Rainbows
biting! Some Bigger fish have been taken
on Streamers, Dry Dropper rigs also
working along the edges and in the slower
water. Look for fishing to be good through
October! A few fly suggestions; WD 40’s
& 50”s olive, gray and chocolate in sizes
20 & 22, Wiers Sprinkle chocolate and
vanilla sizes 18-20, Wiers Caddis Pupa
in Caramel size 14-16, Foxes Pupa Tan
sizes16-18, Rainbow Warriors sizes 16-20,
Hares Ears in 16-20’s and Barrs Emergers

that can wade aggressively and bushcrash through the willows. Streamers and
Big dries will do the trick!
Little Truckee River Fishing ReportFlows are 150+ cfs.
The dam work was finished last week
and the flows are back up again and the
fishing has improved quickly! The fish
are eating Dries and Nymphs with the
occasional streamer take in the deeper
slots. Late morning into the afternoon the
Baetis have been hatching and making
the fish active. Look for fish rising in
the bubble lines! Nymphing has been
best in the deepest and fastest water.
A few fly suggestions: Barrs Emerger

Mays 16-18’s, Wiers Sprinkles 18-20’s,

Game: The R.E.D. Tour is
coming to MontBleu, Friday,
October 28, with special guests Mic
Rob (Reno), and DJ Mr. Wilson
& Quette Daddie (Sacramento).
GAME (formerly The Game) went
from Gangsta to great musician
right before our eyes. He recharged
legendary west coast captain Dr.
Dre, delivering the producer’s last
true Cali-themed classic in “The
Documentary” and then took it upon
himself to keep West Coast hiphop relevant – #1 hit single, #1
album and $20 million-dollar film
role at a time. His official foray into
Hip Hop, “The Documentary”, was
a #1 Billboard 200 debut, selling an
impressive 586,000 units in the first
week continuing to 2.5 million plus
units in the US. The first official street
single, “Westside Story”, charted at
#55 on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs
chart which is remarkable for an
urban radio favorite constructed with
aggressive content. And now, mega
producers Cool and Dre and DJ
Premiere had joined R&B artists
like Chris Brown, Drake and Nelly
Furtado, Game’s music-life mentors
Dr. Dre, Snoop and Busta Rhymes
and new era rap stars Kendrick
Lamar, Tyler the Creator in the
R.E.D. Album’s mix of high profile
features. This even before a formal
announcement from parent label
Interscope/Aftermath or executive
producers Dr. Dre and Pharrell. The
project is widely considered the most
anticipated album of 2011, and is
available now. After selling more
than 10 million albums worldwide on
the strength of only three projects,
Game is without question the most
efficient, marketable and saleable
Hip Hop artist on the West Coast.
Tickets are just $20 (+tax/fees) and
available at all Ticketmaster outlets,
and at the MontBleu Box Office,
or online at www.ticketmaster.com

Actor/Comedian, Christopher
Titus will debut at MontBleu,
Saturday, November 5. A seemingly
overnight success with his own TV
series, "Titus", Christopher at age
35 struggled to reach that peak. His
series is based on his life. His father
was a womanizing beer guzzling
salesman. Living with his father, he
endured a series of stepmothers
until, at age 12, he decided to run
away from home. He moved into a
garage with his biological mother,
a classically trained pianist. She
spent much of her time in mental
institutions before finally committing
suicide. From these situations
he developed what Titus calls
therapeutic stand-up comedy. Like
his TV show character, he enjoys
customizing cars and currently has
four. Tickets are $29.50 reserved.
To launch the ski season and
“The Sound of Winter” in South
Lake Tahoe, MontBleu Resort Casino
& Spa and Heavenly Mountain
Resort presents multi-platinum rock
band BUSH on Saturday, Nov. 26.
The band is celebrating the release
of ‘The Sea of Memories,’ their
first new album in 10 years, and
their chart-topping lead single, “The
Sound of Winter.” Over the course
of their remarkable career, Bush has
sold more than 16 million albums in
the U.S. and Canada alone. They’ve
also compiled an amazing string of
14 consecutive Top 40 hit singles
on the Billboard Modern Rock and
Mainstream Rock charts, including
10 that hit the Top 5. Four of these
became No. 1 hits: “Comedown,”
“Glycerine,” “Swallowed” and “The
Chemicals Between Us.” Tickets are
$55 and on sale now.
Tosh.0 fans will be flooding
Lake Tahoe on December 16-17.
