Your help has made the difference.
Because of the generosity
of so many, the Ridgefield
Library is a splendid example
of a community Library.
It is an intellectual and
cultural gathering place,
adapting to the changing
needs of our community in
an evolving world.
TH E 2015 – 2016
ANNUAL
APPEAL
Camp Snooze took place in
the new Library with many
fourth grade boys and girls
attending. Activities included
break dancing, magic,
making and flying paper
airplanes off the balcony, a
visit from the “Hot Dog Man”
and sleeping over in the
Children’s Library.
The Ridgefield Library Staff
enjoyed dressing up for
Halloween and celebrating
with the community in the
new Library.
“We’re Doing Downton”
Everyone had a fine time,
whether in costume or not,
drinking Downton Abbey wine,
enjoying 1920s appetizers,
testing their wits with Downton
Abbey trivia, parlor games
and seeing the first ever
episode of Downton Abbey
on the big screen.
The Hour of Code kicked
off with activities in the
schools and at the Library
designed to introduce
children to the world of
computer programming.
A celebration with
nearly 350 children
and their parents was
held at the Library with
demonstrations of various
technology activities.
Many Library patrons have
enjoyed the opportunity to
work with our new 3D printer
housed in the Donofrio
Technology Center, as well
as numerous new technology
products and programs.
The Ellis Family Teen Center
brought in a record number
of new young patrons by
offering several popular
Teen Trivia contests and
extra hours for study
sessions for the AP exams,
as well as many exciting
after school activities.
The Lodewick Children’s
Library is an active and social
gathering place for young
and old alike, offering new
programs for parents and
children that are well received
by the community.
The Library has been
buzzing with over 300 adult
programs with a number of
award-winning, nationally and
internationally known authors,
presenters and musicians.
The Ridgefield Library
presented its first ever Comic
Con with crafts, face painting,
green screen photos, 3D
printing demos, panels on
webcomics, cosplay, the
business of comics, political
cartooning, Marvel V. DC
battle, and visits from
Captain America, Batman,
and Spider-Man!
The 2015 Great Expectations
Gala honored Anita and Nick
Donofrio for their leadership
in promoting careers in
the sciences, technology,
engineering and mathematics,
and for inspiring countless
young people to make a
difference in our world.
The new building provides
comfortable and quiet spaces
for tutoring, studying and
learning. Small rooms are
also available upon request.

The Community Mural is an original artwork,
created by local artist Marcia Simha, on
the wall of the Gallery on the Lower Level of
the new Ridgefield Library. Many generous
Ridgefield donors commemorated their family
names, businesses or organizations, an
honoree, a favorite book or expressed other
personal messages, while supporting the
new building fund.
Visitors of all ages had the
opportunity to attend so many
truly unique and fascinating
programs throughout the year
in the new Ridgefield Library.
