Note on Content
As the standards, sensitivities, and stomachs of Sabot readers and families vary widely, we do
not restrict what students recommend in this guide. A few may contain themes, scenes, or
uses of language that some middle schoolers are not comfortable with. As the majority are
widely-accepted as books appropriate for MS readers, only those that are primarily written for
a non-adolescent audience and contain scenes of violence, sexuality, or offensive language have
been marked with a "Parental Review" symbol - indicating that families should check
out the book if they're concerned about what their children might encounter in their reading.

some ways you can capture ideas while
making your way through a book - figure
out which works best for you.
