SERRATONE has been totally refurbished in the spring of 2009 and is
composed of two adjoining houses connected by an open gallery on the
ground floor and an open terrace on the top floor. Of note is the annexe,
detached from the house, which is a intriguing conversion of a silo previously used for wheat storage.
Guests at IL SERRATONE will be astounded by the magnificent swimming pool and surrounding grounds including the pool house. IL
SERRATONE has a total of 9 very spacious bedrooms, all of which are
have en-suite bathrooms most which have both shower and tub and
double sinks. There is air conditioning throughout, large living and
dining areas, a billiard and TV room with a home theatre facility. Staff at
IL SERRATONE are prepared and experienced and will take care of the
guests needs in the most professional way.
LA VIGNA represents the utmost in terms of luxury and service: beautifully decorated, all of its bedrooms have air conditioning, the bathrooms
are spacious with both tubs and showers, and the living area is generous
and welcoming with plenty of space. Alongside the main house, the Pool
House boasts the ultimate in wellbeing and relaxation - an authentic
Mediterranean Hamm-am.
Those enjoying a well-earned break at LA VIGNA will be expertly looked
after by the friendly yet unobtrusive maid and cook; they are responsible
for daily cleaning and preparing succulent Italian meals (extra cost) in
line with the special needs and preferences of guests.
Moscatello is located in the art of the Maremma, a vast area in Italy bordering the
Tyrrhenian Sea. It was traditionally populated by the Butteri, cattle-breeders who
until recently used horses with a distinctive style of saddle. ...This is our “Far
West”..., Carlo Marchi, the owner of the estate, said in an interview. Just 2 hours from
Rome and Florence and 1 hour and half from Pisa and Siena, Moscatello is an area of
1200 acres of protected nature reserve, enjoyed exclusively by the owner and their
guests in absolute peace and tranquillity. Moscatello is an oasis of relax and amusement. The Moscatello’s story has known the Marchi’s family at the end of nineteenth
century when the pirite became the par excellence raw material for the production of
sulphuric acid. At the end of IX century, Carlo Marchi, a chemical entrepreneur, came
here, looking for this mineral and he selected a large piece of land surrounding the
Castle of Pia dei Tolomei for his minerary activity.
The Castle has been built in the twelfth century and immortalized by Dante Alighieri
in the Divine Comedy with the famous verses:
“ricordati di me
che son la Pia:
Siena mi fè, disfecemi Maremma:
salsi colui che ‘nnanellata pria
risposando m’avea con la sua gemma”
which recall the suicide or homicide of poor Pia who has induced to take her life or...
worse by her husband Nello Pannochieschi.

looking for what we found here: silence, space and lots of fun things to do!” such us
