All Homes & Business must be decorated by October 21, 2015
Judging Period: October 20th through October 23rd
Winners will be announced at the Halloween Hoedown in Downtown Lemont on October 24, 2015
CONTEST RULES
1. Participation is open to all residents and businesses within the boundaries of the Village of Lemont and Lemont
Township.
2. Entry is free; no costs or fees apply.
3. Employees of the Lemont Park District and Lemont Chamber of Commerce are not eligible to participate in either
the home and/or business decorating contests.
4. You must provide your own decorations.
5. Entry applications must be received no later than 5 p.m. on October 19th. Please send all applications to:
Lauren Hanson, Lemont Park District.
6. Contest is for exterior decorations only; including decorations only visible from the exterior. Judging will be based
on “curb appeal”; judges will not enter property to view side or back yards.
7. Participant agrees that photos may be posted of their decorated residence/business on the Park District/Chamber
of Commerce Facebook, website or social media. Participant agrees there will be no compensation for said posting.
8. A garage sale-type sign will be provided to all residence participants that must be displayed in front yard.
Businesses will receive a poster announcing their participation that must be displayed in a front window of the
business.
9. Judging will be based on creativity, spookiness and originality. The winner must have all three components.
10. Prizes as follows:
a. Residence & Businesses (judged & awarded separately):
i. 1st Place: $100 gift certificate from Lemont Park District and $100 in gift certificates from the
Lemont Chamber of Commerce and Lemonster Trophy to display for 3 weeks. Trophy will be
collected after said display time by Lemont Park District or Chamber of Commerce.
ii. 2nd Place: $50 gift certificate from Lemont Park District and $50 in gift certificates from the
Lemont Chamber of Commerce
iii. 3rd Place: $25 gift certificate from Lemont Park District and $25 gift certificate from the
Lemont Chamber of Commerce
