Orchid Festival, Royal Botanic Gardens,
Kew, London
February to early March
Kew’s famous Royal Botanic Gardens, located in London,
bring an extravaganza of tropical colour to winter with
their annual orchid festival. An opportunity to view
thousands of exotic and wild orchids cascade through the
tropical displays in the Princess of Wales Conservatory.

RHS Malvern Spring Festival, The Three
Counties Showground, Worcestershire
5–8 May
The first RHS flower show of the year, held in The Three
Counties Showground in the spa town of Malvern, is
filled with ideas to recreate that picture-perfect English
garden. A fantastic day out for the whole family, including
practical gardening tips from celebrity gardeners, show
gardens, floral marquee, cooking demonstrations and
even a bit of shopping.

RHS Chelsea Flower Show, London
24–28 May
One of the most famous flower shows in England, held at
RHS Chelsea in the heart of London. See impressive show
gardens, spectacular exhibits and amazing show-stopping
flowers. Take inspiration from the horticultural leaders
and fashion setters.

BBC Gardeners’ World Live, NEC, Birmingham
16–19 June
The BBC’s Gardeners’ World Live is held undercover at
the NEC. The event is a celebration of summer gardening,
with award-winning show gardens, dazzling plant displays
and advice from top experts. Come rain or shine you are
sure to see some spectacular displays.

A spectacular two-day event with around 380 gardens,
many of which are not open to visitors at any other time.
This festival weekend has been a huge success over the
last few years, giving visitors the opportunity to see the
best of English gardens, in a friendly setting. Visit as
many gardens as possible and make this weekend an

Malvern Autumn Show, The Three

The Malvern Autumn Show, held in The Three Counties
Showground, in the spa town of Malvern is a celebration
of food, countryside and gardening. Visit the show

demonstrations, gardening talks, vintage tractors

Set in the beautiful grounds of Hampton Court Palace,
just outside London. This show is a must-see in the
English gardens event calendar. Enjoy spectacular

20–24 July
Set in the magnificent parklands of Tatton Park, a historic
country house estate in Cheshire, the RHS Flower Show
is a celebration of the best in gardening. The show is
a spectacular day out, not just for plant lovers, but for
visitors too. Show highlights include young designer
of the year, edible gardens, creative demonstrations
and the spectacular floral marquee.

4–5 October
Festivals are not just for the summer. Celebrate everything
autumnal at the RHS London Harvest Festival Show, a
foodie feast celebrating the taste of autumn.

The National Gardens Scheme (gardens open
for charity), across England
Throughout the year
An opportunity to visit real English gardens as
homeowners open their gates to visitors. Over 3,000
outstanding gardens to visit throughout England, many
of these are privately owned and not normally open to
the public. A sheer delight for any visitor who wants
to see real English gardens within a relaxed, homely
atmosphere. Some even offer tea and homemade cake!
