Questions & Answers
Question: I only received three Scratchers® packs this week. Why does my Settlement Invoice show I am
being billed for four packs?
Answer: Scratchers are billed 45 days after activation or when 85% of the low-tier winning tickets have been
validated, whichever comes first. The Altura terminal reports will display the game, pack, and amount for each pack
settled.
Select the Scratchers Menu, then Scratchers Reports, then Settled Packs to view the settled packs for the period.
Question: If I change my bank account for Lottery sweeps, when does the change become effective?
Answer: When an Authorization for Electronic Fund Transfer form (ASL-806) signed by the Licensee is received by
the Lottery Accounting Department by noon on Friday, the new bank account will be swept on the following Friday.
To request an EFT form, contact Lupe Gonzalez at 480-921-4410.

4 Easy Ways to Increase Sales
1. Increase facings - The statewide average number of facings is 25.91. Discuss with your Territory Manager the
ideal amount of facings you should have for your location.
2. Scratchers Inventory - Keep backstock of your best selling games to reduce out-of-stocks. Packs not activated
have no financial value.
3. Initial Allocation - New games are released on the first Tuesday of every month. Receive allocations to ensure
new games are available to players at your location first. Discuss with your Territory Manager allocation quantities
for each price point.
4. Plus sell - When a player asks for Powerball® and Mega Millions®, ask if they want a Trio! for an additional
dollar. Trio! includes a Powerball®, Mega Millions®, and The Pick™ ticket for $4.

While driving through Pearce, Arizona, Walden Bruce, Buckeye, purchased
a few Powerball Quick Pick tickets for the February 11 drawing. He left the
tickets in his truck. The day before Valentine’s Day, Walden went to the store
to buy flowers for his wife. He also had his Powerball ticket checked. The
clerk gave him the paper work, but couldn’t tell him how much he’d won.
When he got home, Walden called the Lottery, and that’s when he found out
he was the holder of one of Arizona’s two $1 million Powerball tickets from
the February 11 drawing.
On Valentine’s Day, Walden gave his wife Becky the bouquet of flowers
and a very special card. When she opened it, there was a $10 Powerball
ticket inside from the February 11 drawing. Her first thought was that it was
worth $10. Walden told her to take a look at the numbers. He reminded her
about the winning ticket she’d heard about on television that had been sold
in Pearce and told her that was the ticket. Somehow, he’d managed to keep
the win a secret until he gave her the card.
Walden and Becky are ecstatic about their win. The couple retired a few years ago from the field of electrical
maintenance. They now have time for the things they enjoy. In addition to spending time with their family, both are
avid golfers, love to travel, and attend various professional and amateur sporting events. The couple is going to share
their win with their immediate family. The ticket was purchased at Giant, 251 Frontage Road, Pearce.

Brent Horner, Surprise, purchased a few Slingo Trio® Scratchers tickets. He
and his wife like the game because it takes longer to play. In fact, they play
them for entertainment. Brent scratched the tickets at home and knew as soon
as he finished scratching one of them that it was a $50,000 winner. Believing
he won was another story. He had his wife check the ticket, and finally it
registered that they were looking at a $50,000 winning ticket. Both of them are
excited about the win. About once a month, or whenever he has extra cash,
Brent buys Scratchers tickets. He also plays Powerball and Mega Millions, but
only when the jackpots are high.
Brent, an Arizona native, works for a distributing company, so he doesn’t have
a lot of spare time. However, he always finds time to coach soccer. He is also a
big NASCAR fan.
Not one to make a rash decision, Brent wants to let his winnings earn some interest; then, he will consider
purchasing a new truck. The ticket was purchased at Circle K, 16247 W Bell Road, Surprise.
