Instructions
Print a different web for each student in the class.
Students write synonyms for the word provided on the lines below the
web. This is a good time for the teacher to check for spelling and accuracy.
Once checked, have students rewrite the words in the blank spaces on the
web.
•
Extensions
• Have the students order the words by shades of meaning
before writing them on the web. Note: Not all words will work for
shades of meaning.
• Have students list antonyms for the word.
Cut the bottom section off the page directly above the line.
Place the finished pages on a bulletin board with a caption such as
• Charlotte’s Web of Words
• Synonym Webs
The spider webs on odd and even number pages are rotated differently so
they look better on a bulletin board.
