A
rt Hall, the founder of Hall's Arrow, shot his first arrows
when he was nine years old at YMCA summer camp
in Connecticut. Art developed his love of archery in the
years that followed. While at camp, he was extremely fortunate to be mentored by a counselor who was willing to
share his knowledge and skills, not only in shooting the
bow, but in the art of making and repairing arrows. Art’s
appetite for shooting was not limited to camp. Art set up
an archery range at his home, and it wasn’t long before
local kids were shooting their bows along with him. As Art
honed his shooting skills, he was also developing his arrow
making abilities. In the early fifties, interest in archery was

expanding and Field Archery clubs were being formed,
providing a connection where individuals interested in archery could socialize and compete. Much of the
interest and growth was due to the availability of new materials and designs in bow and arrow construction.
These innovations provided the potential for greater accuracy by the archer, which in turn made shooting the
bow a more enjoyable experience. Art’s knowledge of arrow making combined with his tournament success
came together in 1954, when Art established his custom arrow business, which he called Hall’s Arrow.

all’s Arrow has grown over the years due to Art’s ability to help archers, to be successful. For the first time,
archers were able to learn how to shoot and to try out bows before they purchased their own equipment. Art’s total commitment to archery was sealed when in 1964 he opened the first indoor archery range in
New England which provided archers the facility to enjoy archery year round. The on going success of Hall’s
Arrow can be attributed to our exceptional staff, who continue to add to the list of state, regional and national
archery champions who call Hall’s Arrow their home.
I
n 1974 Art was approached by the State of Connecticut to create and implement a state wide program for
the training and certification of Camp Archery Instructors. Since that time, he with the support of Hall’s Arrow
staff, have successfully certified over 2500 qualified archery instructors for camps and schools. Although Art
has retired from the day to day operation of Hall’s Arrow, he continues his commitment to the teaching and
certification program, which places an emphasis on “Proper Shooting Form,” “Group Teaching Technique,” and
“Equipment Knowledge.”

here are two, two-day schools scheduled in 2012. The first school will be held Monday and Tuesday, June
11 & 12, and the second school will be held Thursday and Friday June 14 & 15. Both schools are sponsored
by YMCA Camp Jewell located in Colebrook, CT. In addition, Hall’s Arrow staff will host two USA Archery/NFAA,
Level One Basic Instructor Courses at the Indoor Archery Range in Manchester, CT. More information can be

Hall’s Arrow is managed by Richard Johnson III, who is Butch’s son. Richard has worked and trained with Art
Hall for the past twelve years, and was appointed to his management position in 2006. In addition to Richard’s
deep seated “love of Archery”, he possesses exceptional management abilities and technical skills, with a deep

Richard Johnson III
Richard joined the Hall’s Arrow
staff in 2000. He worked closely
with Art, and became so skilled,
that he was promoted to his
Manager position in 2006. In
addition to his natural abilities
and training, Richard has a deep
regard for others, all of which
have put him at the head of a
winning team.
Roxanne Reimann
Roxanne started shooting archery when she
was nine years old. She trained with Tricia
Hall and assisted her in coaching over the
next ten years. Roxanne won her 1st outdoor
national tournament in 1995, and established all but one national Record. She was a
member of the USA Archery Team for eight
consecutive years, winning national titles
along the way, including a Silver Medal at the
2000 World Team Championship. Her career
was put on hold when she moved to N. Dakota. But now she is back to resume her position as Head Coach of our JOAD program.
Butch Johnson
Range and Pro Shop Manager
Butch Johnson is the first archer
in American history to win a
place on five consecutive U.S.
Olympic Teams. An Olympic
gold and bronze medallist,
Johnson coaches competitive archers at Hall’s, as well as
overseeing the daily operations
of the company’s indoor range
and pro shop.
Thomas Thibodeau
Thomas has been a member
of the Hall’s Arrow staff for
four years. In that short time
he has been promoted to
arrow production manager.
Thomas, who has a background in Scouting, will be a
presenter at the Instructors’
course this year, which makes
him a valuable resource for
equipment advice.
Ben Whittemore
Ben has been a valuable member of the Hall’s Arrow team for
over five years. He is an excellent
bow mechanic and salesperson,
as well as an experienced and
patient instructor. Ben’s solid
knowledge of our products and
how they function makes him a
great contact for our camp and
school customers.
Joshua Levesque
With Hall’s Arrow for three
years, Josh has proved to be a
valuable asset in just the short
time he has been working in
our Pro Shop and on the range
selling and servicing equipment, as well as assisting our

Luke Orfitelli
Luke began in the JOAD program
in 2005. His abilities and love of
archery motivated him with the
desire to help others, which he
has been able to do, first by assisting in our teaching programs,
followed by in-depth training, in
order to be able to instruct in our
beginner classes. Luke’s experience in archery gives him a good perspective and
the ability to be a helpful member of the Hall’s
Arrow staff.
Cheri Vibberts
Cheri became interested in
archery soon after her son
joined our JOAD Program in
2006. Cheri had a solid background in business and possessed many of the skills that
Richard was looking for in an
assistant, helping with many
aspects of our camp and
school sales. You will find, as we have, that Cheri is
extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to work
with.

of bows which have achieved customer approval through exceptional design and quality workmanship. Features that set this bow apart from other choices start with the High Density Fiberglass used
in the limb construction, resulting in less limb twist and straighter limb alignment. The contour of the
handle section is smaller, conforming to the needs of the younger archers shooting them, and the
windows of these bows have been cut “true center,” which allows the arrows to be shot at the center

Genesis Compound Bows:
The Official Bow of NASP.
The GENESIS Compound Bow is the “Official” NASP (National Archery in Schools Program)
approved Bow to be used in their Nationwide School Program. The GENESIS is unlike all other
compound bows which have limited draw lengths determined by the size of the wheel on a
particular bow. This correlation between wheel size to draw length renders conventional compounds impractical for most group archery programs. The GENESIS, however, has a unique
wheel design which allows for a wide variation of draw lengths built within a single bow.
The GENESIS is a bow that everyone in the class can use, regardless of their size or age.
In addition, the GENESIS bow shoots the arrow with greater speed than many recurve bows,
with somewhat less effort.

Genesis Compound Bows:
The Official Bow of NASP.
The GENESIS Compound Bow is the “Official” NASP (National Archery in Schools Program)
approved Bow to be used in their Nationwide School Program. The GENESIS is unlike all other
compound bows which have limited draw lengths determined by the size of the wheel on a
particular bow. This correlation between wheel size to draw length renders conventional compounds impractical for most group archery programs. The GENESIS, however, has a unique
wheel design which allows for a wide variation of draw lengths built within a single bow.
The GENESIS is a bow that everyone in the class can use, regardless of their size or age.
In addition, the GENESIS bow shoots the arrow with greater speed than many recurve bows,
with somewhat less effort.

Richard Johnson III
Richard joined the Hall’s Arrow
staff in 2000. He worked closely
with Art, and became so skilled,
that he was promoted to his
Manager position in 2006. In
addition to his natural abilities
and training, Richard has a deep
regard for others, all of which
have put him at the head of a
winning team.
Roxanne Reimann
Roxanne started shooting archery when she
was nine years old. She trained with Tricia
Hall and assisted her in coaching over the
next ten years. Roxanne won her 1st outdoor
national tournament in 1995, and established all but one national Record. She was a
member of the USA Archery Team for eight
consecutive years, winning national titles
along the way, including a Silver Medal at the
2000 World Team Championship. Her career
was put on hold when she moved to N. Dakota. But now she is back to resume her position as Head Coach of our JOAD program.
Butch Johnson
Range and Pro Shop Manager
Butch Johnson is the first archer
in American history to win a
place on five consecutive U.S.
Olympic Teams. An Olympic
gold and bronze medallist,
Johnson coaches competitive archers at Hall’s, as well as
overseeing the daily operations
of the company’s indoor range
and pro shop.
Thomas Thibodeau
Thomas has been a member
of the Hall’s Arrow staff for
four years. In that short time
he has been promoted to
arrow production manager.
Thomas, who has a background in Scouting, will be a
presenter at the Instructors’
course this year, which makes
him a valuable resource for
equipment advice.
Ben Whittemore
Ben has been a valuable member of the Hall’s Arrow team for
over five years. He is an excellent
bow mechanic and salesperson,
as well as an experienced and
patient instructor. Ben’s solid
knowledge of our products and
how they function makes him a
great contact for our camp and
school customers.
Joshua Levesque
With Hall’s Arrow for three
years, Josh has proved to be a
valuable asset in just the short
time he has been working in
our Pro Shop and on the range
selling and servicing equipment, as well as assisting our
Camp and School customers.
His skills and personality make
him a valuable asset.
Luke Orfitelli
Luke began in the JOAD program
in 2005. His abilities and love of
archery motivated him with the
desire to help others, which he
has been able to do, first by assisting in our teaching programs,
followed by in-depth training, in
order to be able to instruct in our
beginner classes. Luke’s experience in archery gives him a good perspective and
the ability to be a helpful member of the Hall’s
Arrow staff.
Cheri Vibberts
Cheri became interested in
archery soon after her son
joined our JOAD Program in
2006. Cheri had a solid background in business and possessed many of the skills that
Richard was looking for in an
assistant, helping with many
aspects of our camp and
school sales. You will find, as we have, that Cheri is
extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to work
with.

“Archery is our only business!”
A
rt Hall, the founder of Hall's Arrow, shot his first arrows
when he was nine years old at YMCA summer camp
in Connecticut. Art developed his love of archery in the
years that followed. While at camp, he was extremely fortunate to be mentored by a counselor who was willing to
share his knowledge and skills, not only in shooting the
bow, but in the art of making and repairing arrows. Art’s
appetite for shooting was not limited to camp. Art set up
an archery range at his home, and it wasn’t long before
local kids were shooting their bows along with him. As Art
honed his shooting skills, he was also developing his arrow
making abilities. In the early fifties, interest in archery was

expanding and Field Archery clubs were being formed,
providing a connection where individuals interested in archery could socialize and compete. Much of the
interest and growth was due to the availability of new materials and designs in bow and arrow construction.
These innovations provided the potential for greater accuracy by the archer, which in turn made shooting the
bow a more enjoyable experience. Art’s knowledge of arrow making combined with his tournament success
came together in 1954, when Art established his custom arrow business, which he called Hall’s Arrow.

all’s Arrow has grown over the years due to Art’s ability to help archers, to be successful. For the first time,
archers were able to learn how to shoot and to try out bows before they purchased their own equipment. Art’s total commitment to archery was sealed when in 1964 he opened the first indoor archery range in
New England which provided archers the facility to enjoy archery year round. The on going success of Hall’s
Arrow can be attributed to our exceptional staff, who continue to add to the list of state, regional and national
archery champions who call Hall’s Arrow their home.
I
n 1974 Art was approached by the State of Connecticut to create and implement a state wide program for
the training and certification of Camp Archery Instructors. Since that time, he with the support of Hall’s Arrow
staff, have successfully certified over 2500 qualified archery instructors for camps and schools. Although Art
has retired from the day to day operation of Hall’s Arrow, he continues his commitment to the teaching and
certification program, which places an emphasis on “Proper Shooting Form,” “Group Teaching Technique,” and
“Equipment Knowledge.”

here are two, two-day schools scheduled in 2012. The first school will be held Monday and Tuesday, June
11 & 12, and the second school will be held Thursday and Friday June 14 & 15. Both schools are sponsored
by YMCA Camp Jewell located in Colebrook, CT. In addition, Hall’s Arrow staff will host two USA Archery/NFAA,
Level One Basic Instructor Courses at the Indoor Archery Range in Manchester, CT. More information can be

Hall’s Arrow is managed by Richard Johnson III, who is Butch’s son. Richard has worked and trained with Art
Hall for the past twelve years, and was appointed to his management position in 2006. In addition to Richard’s
deep seated “love of Archery”, he possesses exceptional management abilities and technical skills, with a deep
