ELASTICITY
Control of the ball is effected when the ball makes
contact with the bat. The elastic properties of a blade
make you feel this contact. It is down to the individual which type of elasticity is preferred. We outline the
five categories of elasticity. If you take these categories into consideration it will help determine your
blade choice.
• Elastic
Balanced, distinct contact between blade and ball with
no disturbing vibration. Perfect control for all-round
strategies, and when combined with spin elastic rubber
also for offensive strategies.

The choice of handle is purely personal. In our compact description you can see the available handle
shapes for each blade. There is no ‘best’ handle,
everyone should choose the handle they find most
comfortable. Straight handles are usually held more
loosely, while concave and anatomic handles are
held relatively firmly. Handles, which have not been
lacquered, naturally absorb sweat better.

You are an all round player who uses all TT techniques: chop, block, spin, and smash.
You prefer tactical play and exact placement of
balls or a speedier game.
OFF – Focal point SPIN
You are a strategic player who uses reversed pimpled rubber. The main characteristic of your game
is topspin. Playing close to the table or only from a
short distance, you try to win your points with spin
strategies.
OFF – Focal point SMASH
You prefer speed to spin. The main characteristics of your game are hard blocked balls
and smashes with exact placement.
You usually play with ‘pimples out’ rubber
on the backhand.

The elastic properties of the top sheet determine the control of the ball and the
characteristics of your rubber. We therefore outline the following categories
according to the characteristics of the top sheet.
• HIGH FRICTION and CONTROL
These rubbers are not fast, but provide high grip. Their control is
excellent. Due to the weak elasticity, the grip can only develop its
effect on topspin when slow balls are played. Low spin dynamics
in fast topspin games.
• STICKY
These rubber sheets offer good control and are very sticky, providing good spin when playing slow balls: i.e. service and first spin.
• CONTROL-ELASTIC
These rubbers develop spin elasticity even at low speed giving
you more control and providing more playing fun. Suitable for
control orientated players.

also the addition of spin characteristics.

Pimpled-in rubbers are mainly used. Pimpled out rubber
for speed players and long pimpled and anti spin rubber
for defensive players are encountered less frequently.

The sponge:
Sponges are available in several thicknesses. The thicker
the sponge, the more difficult to control, but the more
spin for topspin shots and the less spin for chopping.

Top workmanship, made in Germany! the new world champion 89 blade series is exceptional. It celebrates the 25th anniversary o Sweden winning the world championships Team
title in Dortmund in 1989 (in a historic 5-0 final win against
China). DONIC is exclusively producing three new blades in
Germany, in honour of the legends Jan-ove waldner, Jörgen
Persson und Mikael Applegreen. Hand crafted and employing
the most mordern precision and technical know-how, in acknowledgement of the supreme mastery with which the swedish
Superstars played.
All three models have in carporated an Italian Spruce
ply which over 200 years old. This is combined
with a 3mm strong center veneer All+ model,
Ayous combined with a new Carbonfleece Zylon webbing (CFZ),exclusive for DONIC

Aspecially developed drying procedure reduces the moiture content of all three

only 80g approx.) Each individual blade is subjected to a special cold press for 24
hours.

This is the quickest model in the new blade series.
In its construction it is similar to the Waldner Legend Carbon, but differs
slightly because of its somewhat thicker inner ply in combination with a high
class Hinoki outer ply.
It is a very fast carbon blade with great stiffness and almost impossible to
break. Despite the high speed the blade is great fun to play with.
For all out attackers with hard top-spins who prefer to counter-attack.
A new DONIC development – the blade you must have!
Fast and relatively light offensive blade. Having a larger “sweet spot”
ensures premium control. The blade has been designed with great care. The
choice of wood plies – Hinoki outer ply in combination with carbon layers
and a soft inner ply provide stiffness for good topspin.

The artificial Aramid-Carbon fibre in combination with high quality woodplies ensure a precise ball return and outstanding offensive quality to the

DONIC EPOX System: Each blade a high quality original
DONIC EPOX series veneers are not glued with a liquid glue, but with a gluing coat of Epoxy resin.
The five veneers with epoxy coating are pressed together adding heat for 20 minutes. During this process the epoxy coating liquefies and glues the veneers together.
The middle veneer and two intermediate layers consist of monoblade veneers. Only one-piece veneers are used in this monoblade technique.
Other traditional techniques often use several pieces which are put together.
This means each pressed veneer is only used for one blade resulting in a unique blade of high-quality.
The unique method of gluing the plies of the EPOX-blades with epoxy resin ensures their special rigidity. Depending on the particular ply formation, extra power and speed are
achieved. The blade has superior control without unpleasant vibration.
The edges close to the handle are carefully rounded off. This is the main reason why each blade of the DONIC EPOX series is very easy to handle.
Many players hold the handle differently for forehand and backhand shots. Due to the smooth, rounded handle, this presents no problems.

The DONIC EPOX blades have an edge protection made of Fineline wood and are manufactured with the DONIC FINELINE technology. This innovative design has a 360° edge
protection, which guarantees that DONIC EPOX blades look perfect for a long time. Due to their thin outer veneers, these blades are also very light in weight.

Jan-Ove Waldner has been to table tennis what Mozart was to music.
Waldner was a fan of the standard blade DONIC Waldner Senso Carbon
for many years. This legendary blade has, however, been further developed and improved, in collaboration with the greatest table tennis player
of all time. DONIC has designed a faster version of the Waldner Senso
Carbon blade. The Waldner Senso Ultra Carbon is a light Carbon blade
with impressive ball control and feel - ideal for an inspirational player.
The increase in speed is due to hard Carbon plies which have been placed around
a relatively thin middle veneer. The inner and outer veneers with varied hardness
give this blade superb touch.
Speed gluing has been banned but power shots haven’t. Players who
want to achieve optimum power and the highest speed need the Donic
Persson Carbotec named after the 5-times Swedish World Champion.
Because of its extreme speed and its stiffness, this carbon-glass blade is
the answer for players who want to achieve optimum acceleration
without speed glue, but through the blade. The carbon glass fibre blade

Our expert rubber sheet developers had exactly forecast that the speed glue ban that was introduced in 2008 would accelerate the
rubber development enormously. The completely newly developed rubbers, we call them FORMULA DONIC FD3 (3rd generation), brings
table tennis without speed gluing to a totally different level. There is now no reason to bemoan the loss of speed glue.
FORMULA DONIC FD3 has it all: speed, sound, feeling and precision leaving nothing more to be desired.

The pioneer rubber of the SOFT generation. The surface is absolutely
identical to the sheet of the normal VARIO, but the sponge is softer.

Good control and the ability to impart a lot of backspin can
be achieved with this rubber well away from the table.
The version without sponge and 0.6 mm (with a very thin
sponge) enables the player to play close to the table.
The new pimpled top surface produces unexpected variations of spin.
The AKKADI L2 makes awkward attacking strokes possible
and, therefore, has all the qualities of a genuine allrounder.

There have been radical changes
to rubbers since the enforcement
of the speed glue ban back in
September 2008.
This is a rubber that most players feel very comfortable
with, especially European players. COPPA J.O. SILVER is considerably softer, but due to its high built-in speed-glue
effect, it plays like a medium-hard speed-glued rubber.

on the COPPA JO Gold from Jan-Ove Waldner, but as soon
as it has been glued to the blade, this „grenade“ sets an
entirely new benchmark.
