Launching the Wiring Application
Chrysler Wiring Application Quick Start Guide Launching the Wiring Application In TechCONNECT, select a vehicle by either entering the VIN or selecting a year, model, and engine, then click the Wiring tab. The Wiring Application will open in a new window; Available VINs will be pre-selected in the application. Note: Year, Model, Engine, Trim, Body Style, Drive and Transmission must all be selected in order to see Wiring Diagrams. Version 3.1 Page | 1 Chrysler Wiring Application Quick Start Guide Finding Wiring Information The Wiring Application has two ways to find information: a “Google” style Search Feature or a Table of Contents (TOC). Search Feature The Search Feature may be the easiest way to find information. The search feature allows you to find diagrams, connectors, and circuits by name, keyword or ID. Once you enter your search terms, the system will display a list of matching items. For example: Simple searches by one keyword like “Fuel” will render more options than using the complete term you as searching for, “Fuel pump module”. “Diagrams” section shows preselected diagrams relevant to your search also found in the Table of Contents (TOC). “More” button will display additional search results matching your keyword. Clicking an item will give you a pop up menu of choices that will allow you to view a diagram or additional details on a connector or circuit. Version 3.1 Page | 2 Chrysler Wiring Application Quick Start Guide Table of Contents In addition to the Search Feature pre-selected diagrams and connectors are available in the Table of Contents (TOC) along the left side of the application. Information is organized by subsystem. Expanding a subsystem will show you a list of diagrams. Expanding the “Connectors” will show the available connectors in the subsystem diagram. Expanding the specific connector will show that connectors details, location or diagram. Version 3.1 Page | 3 Chrysler Wiring Application Quick Start Guide Using the Wiring Diagrams Diagrams are organized by harness. Harness part numbers are displayed on the left side of the diagram. Wire color and tracer color are shown on the wires in the diagram. Box with dotted line represents an incomplete connector. Left click will allow to draw the complete diagram of that connector. Components within a harness section are arranged such that the power (B+) side of the circuit is placed near the top/left of each section, and the ground (B-) side of the circuit is placed near the bottom/right of each section. Modules and PIAs (Parts in Assembly) are displayed in a gray box on the diagram. Solid Blue box represents a component. This references the complete TIPM and shows TIPM C7 connector at the bottom. Version 3.1 Page | 4 Chrysler Wiring Application Quick Start Guide Left clicking on a connector, splice, or circuit will open a menu with options to find additional information. o Connectors: Show Component View: Displays a page with more information on the connector such as the end view and pin out tables. Show Diagram of Component: This option will generate a custom diagram centered on the selected connector. Show Alternate Diagram: This option will display a list of other system diagrams that include the selected connector. Show Component Location: Displays where the connector is located on the vehicle. o Circuits: Show Circuit Details: This option will open a window showing information on the selected circuit including wire gauge and circuit function. Show Diagram of Circuit: This option will generate a custom diagram centered on the selected circuit. Version 3.1 Page | 5 Chrysler Wiring Application Quick Start Guide Locate a Wiring Component on a Vehicle From the Table of Contents (TOC), Search Feature, Component Details page or diagram, you can find the location of a component on a vehicle. When you select this option, an image of the vehicle will load with a line drawn to the connector. You can zoom in to pinpoint the location of the connector. NOTE: Depending on the vehicle and model year, different styles of location views may be used. Connector Information From the Table of Contents (TOC), Search Feature, Component Details page or diagram, you can find additional information about a connector. When you click this option, a window will be shown with information on the connector including the end view, pin information, color, and repair kit part number (if available).
