prism trunk show
The new season always invigorates me. As the yarn arrives that we purchased several
months ago, I am struck once more by the beauty and the variety that we are privilege
to. Stitches are back in vogue and fibers become more classic and lush to accommodate
the trend. Cashmere, yak, fine wools and yes even the musk ox, are high on the list
to knit with. The results are life long and gorgeous. Stacy Charles, Karabella, Jade
Sapphire and Rowan rule when these fibers are mentioned.
Don’t despair if you love texture and outrageous combinations. They’re here as well
from all the usual sources. Anny Blatt, Prism, Gedifra and Trendsetters never fail to
surprise and delight us with potions of pure pleasure.
Whatever you choose you won’t be disappointed. The paint box is replenished and
the designs are fresh and innovative. We believe knitting is the dream, complete with
all the twists and turns along the way to the final creation. Try to remember that part
of your passion lies in the romance of the dream, it is your muse. That sprite can often
be fickle, so stay open to the possibilities that can transition the outcome in new
directions.

Bouton D’Or’s Songe is no exception. This yummy fiber is a soft blend of viscose with a hint
of mohair to create a gentle haze. The look is romantic and easy to wear. We’ve accented with
Anny Blatt’s signature Victoria ribbon. Knit on a #9 needle in a classy expanded rib, the piece

Our must knit choice this month is from the Bouton D’Or Fall 2007 book knit in their
sister Anny Blatt yarn, Merinos. This dk weight 100% merino wool is a delight to
knit with. Choose from 4 sensational colors and knit this incredible cabled designer
sweater. We’ve noted the length to be a bit short for some. Don’t worry, we can
accommodate a longer length as well.

Looking for a great wrap that throws over your favorite summer dress, a great pair of jeans
or even a funky pair of palazzo pants? You’ve found it. Our perfect solution is a kimonoesque style knit in a Tahki’s Scoop along with a strand of glimmered and sequined Coquette
from Luisa Harding. We’ve run the two together on a size 10 ¾ needle and worked a simple
pattern stitch to achieve a lacy outcome which will work winter spring summer or fall.
Add beads or your favorite trim if you want, but the piece works with or without them.
