Non-conductive matting is designed to insulate workers, protecting them from deadly shocks generated from
high-voltage equipment.
These mats are tested and proven to have high dielectric strength. However, the maximum recommended
voltage exposure rating is much less to provide a large margin of safety to workers.
This is important as switchboard matting is a true safety mat, designed to save people’s lives.
Conductive matting is designed to protect sensitive equipment by draining static electricity from workers before
they touch susceptible chemicals and equipment. This is critical as one discharge could destroy a computer or
cause a fire in the case of flammable chemicals or liquids.
As personnel can quickly gather static electricity when walking or rolling on a chair with castors, we offer both
Electrically Conductive and Static Dissipative matting to eliminate these harmful hazards.
Electrically Conductive mats disperse static quicker than Static Dissipative mats, so generally Electrically Conductive
matting is used around very sensitive components.
