Foods for Foodies
As you probably know, Market District is more than just a grocery store, it is a culinary experience — a shopping, cooking
and dining destination unlike any other. This is because all of our resources go into making food — cooking and eating — fun,
exciting and deliciously memorable.
Our “Own Brands” Team spends their days exploring, inventing and trying new foods in our Kitchens and all over the world.
This is how they discover and develop all of the wonderful products that carry the Market District name: products that honor
the foodie in us all with singular flavors and purposefully sourced ingredients. Today, their finds range from meats, coffee and
pastas to artisan granolas, sriracha sauce and goat cheese. Each has a story — a breeding, if you will — and comes to us after
much work — tasting and tweaking to make it the very best it can be.
This month, we’re introducing a number of new Market District products (thanks to the devoted work of our Own Brands
Team), which we are super excited to share, as well as showcasing our favorites. We also hope you’ll try our other brands,
including our natural and organic Nature’s Basket, as well as our Giant Eagle and Top Care® lines.
They are all dedicated to quality and value — our way of helping you save money without compromising taste and standards.
And, they all carry our 100% satisfaction or double your money back ® guarantee. That’s how much we believe you are going
to love them!

new! Market District
Artisan
granolas
Real Food, Really Well Made!
We love granola, but sadly, a lot of it tastes the same. It’s crunchy, it’s sweet, blah, blah, blah. It wasn’t until we
stumbled upon a version served at a quaint bed and breakfast in central Pennsylvania that we realized what a difference
homemade could make.
It was something about the just-baked flavor bursting (literally) with simple ingredients: rolled oats, nuts, fruit, honey
and butter, that made a heck of a difference. Ends up, guests at the inn come back just for the granola — and so did we.
It was on our third or fourth bowl that we got the courage to ask said innkeepers if they might consider making their
granola for us to sell, and to our delight, they said YES! You can’t imagine how thrilled we were … and are.
Introducing NEW Market District Artisan Granolas with a homemade, just-baked flavor
you just can’t put down. It’s hard to pick a favorite, too, so we just keep a
bag of each handy. It’s the great granola rollout 24-7: Cherry Almond
Quinoa in the morning with milk, Mixed Berry as a snack
mid-day and Honey Pecan sprinkled over ice cream at night.
You’ll never think of granola the same again — or, never
stop thinking of it!

Not just one goat, but two, and boy are they outstanding!
Crafted by a master cheesemaker with full respect for
traditional French cheesemaking techniques, they are the
best found anywhere — a requisite for anything we put
our name on. Four ounces of pure cheese heaven; we’re
not exaggerating!
We encourage you to visit our Cheese Department to
try both. In fact, we maintain that everyone should have a
little goat in the fridge for late night snacks, cocktail hour,
Sunday brunch, movie night, block parties, kickball games
(just kidding, but not really).…
• First, our Market District goat log. This chèvre
features prime quality, hormone-free, pasteurized
goat’s milk collected from independent family farms.
The milk is slowly drained and folded to ensure the
rich, smooth texture we adore.
• Then, our Nature’s Basket organic goat log,
which is made with the same artisan care as our
Market District goat cheese, but is USDA
certified organic.

s to Rave About!
Rav
Last fall, we launched our new Market District ravioli line with two wildly popular varieties: Pumpkin & Sage and Goat
Cheese & Apple. They were so coveted, we could barely keep them on the shelves (or in the Deli case, to be precise).
Not only were they delicious, but they were truly reflective of our philosophy that no matter how hectic your life, you
should enjoy fine food, and not have to spend a lot of time cooking it.
Soooooo, we decided to keep the rav rave going with new flavors especially for spring and summer! Crafted by the
same artisan pasta makers who gifted us the fall varieties, our new ones are made in the true Italian pasta-with-passion
tradition we hold dear:
• Prosciutto, Provolone & Pea — Classic Italian prosciutto combined with aged, sharp Provolone, herbs and
tender peas.
• Mozzarella & Tomato Caprese — Perlini Mozzarella blended with roasted tomato and fresh-picked basil to
create the flavor of traditional Italian Caprese salad in a ravioli!
Like our autumn raviolis, these delicate pasta pouches are also made on custom-made Italian equipment to ensure the
perfect harmony of flavor, aroma and texture. And they cook in a mere four minutes, so you have a lovely gourmet meal
with time to spare.
We like to serve them drizzled with our Market District extra virgin olive oil or Nature’s Basket organic butter and
maybe a clove of fresh, sautéed garlic. You can also use our Market District marinara sauce if you like. And, definitely
top with a little shaved Parmigiano Reggiano®. Whatever you do, you’re going to have a meal that is a model of Italian
artisanship — flavor, finesse and a fervor for the finer things in life.

Market District Cookie Spreads
Not Butter, but Better!
That’s right, we now have our very own cookie spreads, just like all
the cool kids! And man, are they good! One, a creamy, dark cookie
spread made with cocoa, and the other, a luscious sweet spread made
from crushed spiced cookies. Both are free from artificial flavors and
colors, and make toast a whole new kind of dreamy experience. But
you’re not dreaming, they’re real, just ask Justin!

Market District San Marzano Tomatoes — Vine is the Glory …
… and that’s putting it mildly! San Marzano tomatoes can only be grown in one
place on Earth: Naples, Italy, near and around Mount Vesuvius. Why? It’s because
the soil around the volcano has a unique, mineral-rich composition that gives San
Marzano tomatoes their distinct flavor — one that can’t be replicated. Go ahead,
try! As importantly, our growers, who live in the little towns near Vesuvius, adhere
to centuries-old cultivation techniques, including hand-picking the tomatoes. You
can almost taste the Italian sun!

Super Premium Ice Cream — The Real Scoop!
Our super premium ice creams are made the old-fashioned way
with 14% butterfat for rich, creamy, intense flavors. And, the
chocolate and vanilla have a whopping 16% butterfat — it’s an
ice cream dream come true!
WOW! That pretty much sums up my response to our
Market District Super Premium Ice Creams . Each
spoonful is super rich and ultra-creamy, so a bowl goes
a long way in the indulgence department. Speaki ng

Market District Smokehouse Bacon — Bring it Home!
Our bacon is sow good, we make a pig of ourselves every time we serve it!
And for good reason, it’s:

• Gluten free
• Sliced extra thick and hand-trimmed for exceptional farmhouse quality
You know how they ask celebrities what one thing can be found in
their refrigerator at all times? My answer would unequivocally be
Market District Smokehouse Bacon. We buy it every week and eat it
every Sunday for breakfast. I frankly have yet to find better bacon
anywhere; for a staple, it’s pretty exceptional. So flavorful and crisp
and ok, maybe there won’t be any bacon in our house tonight, because
now I’m going to have to go home and eat it!

Nuttin' Better
Market District Ground Nut Butters
The Market District nut butters are a staple in my home.
They make an appearance every day — breakfast, dinner,
snack time, you name it. Most people immediately think peanut
butter and jelly, but I use all of the varieties. They are great
to make a sauce for pasta or meat, to thicken soups, add
flavor and protein to hot cereal and smoothies, in yogurt or
with herbs for a veggie dip or salad dressing . Of course, my
son’s favorite is the aforementioned PB&J — grilled.
You’ll find our nut butters near

tortilla chips with Sea salt
Chip In!
Made using traditional techniques and simple ingredients like stone-ground corn, sea salt and
a trace of lime, our chips are excellent straight out of the bag (ask Chef Ben’s wife), and also
a complementary foundation for any hot and spicy dip or salsa. Plus, they’re:
• Delicate, thin & crispy
• As good as (we think better than) other premium chips
• A true chip lover’s choice
Honestly, my wife and I buy these weekly; always on our
shopping list (it’s her favorite snack). They are the perfect
balance of texture and flavor — a little lighter than other
tortilla chips, but tough enough to hold the heartiest of salsas
and dips. I think that’s the main reason I like them. They are
also not overly salty. We eat them with queso dip or salsa.
I like the Nature’s Basket salsas or if we’re in the mood for
something a little differe nt, one of these recipes!

hand with unbleached flour, sweet, creamy butter and just a touch of honey. And, the dough is so versatile that we also
use it to make our Cinnamon Swirl Bread, our Red, White & Blue Bread and our Monkey Bread! It’s a sweet lineup!
• Honey Butter Buns — These can’t-find-anywhere-else classics come in Hamburger/Sandwich or
Hot Dog Buns, 8-pk., and Slider or Dinner Buns, 12-pk., just $3.29 ea.
• Cinnamon Swirl Bread — Our honey butter dough with a brown sugar, cinnamon and butter swirl baked to
golden brown perfection and lightly brushed with melted butter, then coated with MORE cinnamon sugar — simply
amazing, $4.99.
• Red, White and Blue Bread — Our honey butter dough with a healthy dose of cranberries and blueberries
baked with a light sprinkling of coarse sugar for added texture, $4.99.
• Monkey Bread — Our honey butter dough with a buttery brown sugar glaze assembled to be pulled apart and
enjoyed in bite-sized pieces — fun! $3.99.
Tip: Use our Cinnamon Swirl or Red, White and Blue bread to create outstanding French toast or bread pudding —
your signature treats!
Market District Cheesecakes
These best sellers come in a variety of flavors and are located in our Bakery freezer case so you can keep them handy
for special occasions or for a treat with coffee, $15.99.

• New York Style — Truly authentic with a graham cracker crust and a smooth cream cheese filling
• Caramel — Our New York Style topped with chocolate chips, pecans and caramel sauce
• White Chocolate Raspberry — This time, our New York Style topped with raspberry glaze and drizzled
white chocolate
Can’t make up your mind? Try our Sampler, a collection of New York Style, Caramel, White Chocolate Raspberry
and our only-in-the-sampler Wildberry cheesecake slices!
I adore our Market District Strawberry
Cream Pie! We begin with a graham cracke r
crust and vanilla-flavored pastry cream.
We top that with fresh-sliced strawbe rries
tossed in our housemade glaze. We top that
with whipped topping and then finish it with
decorative mini chocolate curls. These pies
are as beautiful as they are delicious!
