“As You Like It” Purse Flap
Telephone Applique
• This telephone applique has 2
pieces: a background that offsets
the telephone which is shown
in red below, and the main
telephone piece which is shown
in black below. The dial numbers
are small white buttons that can
be sewn on or glued onto the
design.
• You will need a scrap of
background fabric and phone
fabric approx. 10” x 8” each and
½ yard of your favorite fusible
web (ie. HeatnBond Lite)
• Trace both of the telephone
pieces onto the fusible web (they
are reversed for tracing and will
be correct on the flap)
• Fuse the background telephone onto the background fabric and the main telephone piece onto the telephone
fabric.
• Carefully cut around your traced lines.
• Position the background telephone piece onto the flap fabric and fuse in place.
• Position the telephone piece on top of the background telephone and fuse in place.
• Glue or sew on buttons for the dial.
