Scotts Smokehouse confirmed for Oct Show n Shine, 4. Discussed where to cruise in June. Decided to cruise to the Camp Gordon Johnston Museum in Carrabelle on Saturday 11 June. Departure details to be settled at next meeting. Winner of 50-‐50: Linda who returned the winnings to the club. Held the third weekend of June, this festival has enjoyed 65 plus years of watermelon, music, children’s theater, pageants, Street Dance, arts and crafts vendors, food, a 5K run, car show, art show ghost tours seed spitting contest, watermelon carving contest, softball tournament, Beer Garden, parade and much more. Activities begin on Friday 10 June with the Kickoff Dinner, Bed Race and Rodeo. The Rodeo continues the next day Saturday 11 June. On Thursday 16 June the Woman’s Club holds their Fashion Show. th On Friday the 17 , enjoy the Rotary Barbecue, Street th Dance and the Children’s Theatre. Saturday the 18 the Festival concludes with a full day of activities beginning with the FMB Breakfast, Kiwanis 5K Run, Antique Car Show, Children’s Theatre, Parade & Festival, Whacky Watermelon Festival Games and much more. There is something for everyone! For complete information and times and locations see: June 2016 http://monticellojeffersonfl.com/events/ 11 June Cruise-In Join the Panhandle Ponies Tallahassee Mustang Club for the monthly cruise-in at the Whataburger on Thomasville Road from 5:00 to 8:00pm. 18 June Monticello, FL Watermelon Festival Car Show 10 AM - Noon at Farmers & Merchants Bank lot one block East of Court House in center of town. Open to all vehicles including antiques, classics, modifieds, rods, and motorcycles. Show or have your ride judged for a trophy. Pre registration is $10 or $15 day of show. Compete for 10 trophies at $5 more. All registrants will get a prize raffle ticket. Lots of prizes for all. Also a cash raffle. Hosted by Tallahassee Region Antique Auto Club of America (TRAACA). Show is part of the Chamber of Commerce 66th Annual Watermelon Festival. Lots of vendors and events including a parade at 10 AM. Parade theme is "Route 66". Event hours are 8AM 4PM. Registration is open 8AM - 11AM. The registration fee is $25. Register by June 1, 2016 at $20. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to drive on a big time road race circuit, this is your chance. You don’t need previous experience or a specially prepared car. You will need a currently certified helmet and seat belts and a desire to be a participant instead of a spectator. And you get to keep the memories for the rest of your life.
