At our camps we seek to create an environment where youth will: AQUATICS SPORTS GYMNASTICS - Make friends - Learn new skills - Gain independence - Build confidence - And more! Aquatics Camp combines learning the life skill of swimming with the fun of other summer activities like crafts, hiking and more. Campers receive daily swim instruction from YMCA certified swim instructors as well as an hour of pool time each morning filled with pool based activities and games focused on our fun theme of the week. Our Sports Camps are an excellent opportunity for kids to learn new sports or improve their skills with a particular sport. Each morning campers receive daily instruction from experienced athletes, such as college players, veteran instructors or local high school stars. Campers can sign up for just the morning sport specific activities; this is our 9am-Noon half-day camp. YMCA Gymnastics Camp is a week of gymnastics instruction centered on one of our fun-filled themes. Each morning campers will have instructional rotations on vault, bars, beam, floor, dance and tumble track. Every afternoon campers will swim in the outdoor pool and then enjoy other fun activities like climbing rope, games, crafts and more. Campers can sign up for just the morning gymnastic activities; this is our half-day gymnastics camp. Countryside YMCA offers all day (9am-4pm) and half day experiences (9-Noon & 1-4pm). Likewise we offer Before Camp (Begins at 6:30am) and After Camp (Until 6:00pm) if you need to extend the hours your child is with us. Your little swimmer will kick off every day with lessons from YMCA instructors followed by fun games, crafts and activities. ADVENTURERS -1pm-4pm Each afternoon is filled with fun and excitement in this fun theme filled camp. Participants will have fun playing games, doing crafts, and have a splash time twice each week! BALLET -1pm-4pm Learn Ballet at Camp! Dancers will learn basic positions and ballet moves during their week as well as participate in fun, age-appropriate activities. Dancers will also learn a short dance to perform for parents at the end of the week! CIT PROGRAM Teens looking to gain experience working with others should consider our Counselor In Training program. Our in-depth training will cover CPR, First Aid, Group Management, Climbing Wall Certification and more! After completing the week camp, CITs who demonstrate commitment, maturity and responsibility will be invited to volunteer with the camping program. Participants MUST BE 14 or older at the time of the camp to attend no exceptions.
