Dear Friends,
The Jacksonville Area Sexual Minority Youth Network, Inc. (JASMYN) is a non-profit youth services
organization which provides support, leadership development, HIV prevention, and safety net services for
lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth under the age of 24 in Northeast Florida.
JASMYN has promoted the understanding and dignity of youth in our community since 1994.
On August 27, Billy Wells, Kerry Boatwright, Ginger Harris, and Karma Harris will once again host their 7th
annual “Feel the” party – this year titled Feel the Fantasea. This year’s theme will place attendees into the
depths of the ocean, surrounded by fellow partygoers dressed in costume as sea creatures and nautical
characters from any genre. Each year the event has been a sensational themed festivity, bringing together
more than 400 supporters for a night of endless dancing, fabulous costumes, and rejuvenated community.
This event is for adults 21 and older and will feature a live DJ, cash bars, a VIP experience, and online auction
to raise funds that will support the mission of JASMYN.
Over $200,000 has been raised for JASMYN since the first costume-themed spectacle Feel tha Funk in 2010
– making it the largest annual fundraiser held for JASMYN. This will be the 7th annual event and we hope to
make this another record-breaking year. One hundred percent of the proceeds have gone to the creation of
safe spaces and the provision of youth development services for Jacksonville’s LGBTQ youth. Included in
these achievements was the sustainment of the youth center to remain open on Friday nights so that
LGBTQ youth had a secure location to connect, find support, receive help for emergency needs, and
participate in leadership development opportunities.
Forty percent of all homeless youth in America identify as LGBTQ. This is a great opportunity for you and
your organization to make a difference in the lives of our youth and in the future of the Jacksonville
community. Your contributions will be acknowledged at the event, in addition to the marketing and press
materials surrounding the event. JASMYN is a 501c3 non-profit organization. All contributions are tax
deductible to the full extent of the law.

JASMYN provides a safe space where youth are accepted, period!
JASMYN’s health clinic offers free and confidential HIV and STD testing, counseling, STD treatment
and HIV connection to care

HIV Prevention and Health Education workshops were provided to 345 youth through JASMYN’s HIV
prevention programs last year
It’s a place for youth to have FUN in a comfortable and accepting environment
JASMYN’s Safety Net Services team provided comprehensive, wrap-around case management and
resource linkage to 61 youth experiencing homelessness and / or living with HIV/AIDS in 2014
More than 1,000 adults attended JASMYN cultural competency training or other outreach events in
2014
The JASMYN food and hygiene pantry serves more than 30 youth (and often their whole families)
every month – in addition to serving as a community pantry resource
JASMYN outreach workers offer free community HIV
testing every Thursday night at the Metro
Youth find help from supportive, caring adults at the
JASMYN house without fear of exploitation
Transportation is one of the greatest challenges to
getting youth to school and work – JASMYN distributes
more than 200 bus passes per month
Transgender youth find peers and adults to support
their identity expression without bullying or judgment
Young people experiencing homelessness get the
emergency shelter they need and the long-term
support required to secure stability
