discounted daily tickets to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom , and the Aquarium of
the Bay. Vallejo Fun Facts * World famous novelist Jack London was once a member of the Vallejo
Yacht Club. When he moved to his ranch in Glen Ellen he joined the VYC
in 1910. London remained a member of the club until his death in 1916 at
the age of 40.
* The periscope from the nuclear ballistic missile submarine USS Mariano G. Vallejo has
recently been installed through the roof of the Mare Island Museum. Also on display are the
boat's control room and 65­ton sail and diving planes. The submarine was launched at Mare
Island in 1965 and decommissioned in 1995.
