Hello Mountain Viewers:
Things are moving and shaking at Lot 79. Hopefully we will see an end to
the clean up sooner rather than later.
As some of you may know, we lost Louis Brambila last month.
thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Katie, in her time of need.
Our
Keeping things on the lighter side, here is something I would like to pass
along to you all. It was one of those things that make you smile and say,
“How true, how true! This is definitely a fridge door keeper.
Good Things About Getting Old(er)
Finally you can eat dinner at 4:00 p.m.
Your investment in health insurance is beginning to pay off.
Kidnappers are not very interested in you.
It is harder and harder for sexual harassment charges to stick.
If you have never smoked, you can start now and it will not have time to hurt you.
People no longer view you as a hypochondriac.
Your secrets are safe with your friends because they cannot remember them
either.
Your supply of brain cells is finally down to a manageable size.
Your eyes will not get much worse.
Adult diapers are actually kind of convenient.
Things you buy now will not wear out.
No one expects you to run into a burning building.
There is nothing left to learn the hard way.
Your joints are more accurate than the national weather service.
In a hostage situation you are more likely to be released…..
I am sure there are plenty more where these came from. Can you think of
some?
As always, stay well and safe…Charles Foronjy, HOA President
NEXT HOA MEETING – November 28th, 6:00 pm
What’s Happening?
by Carolyn Daniels, Social Club Chair
Looking Back
I am sure you all know we put the newsletter together before the end of the month so some of
our events are left to the following month to talk about. This is one of those months when I
would love to tell you what a great Oktoberfest Party we had, but it hasn’t happened yet.
What I do know is that we have purchased quite a few door prizes to give away after the
50/50 has been won. When we have special parties like this one, we offer a real deal for the
50/50 tickets. You can purchase 6 tickets for $5.00 or you can purchase 15 tickets for
$10.00. Such a deal! This gives you a greater opportunity to not only win the 50/50 but also
extra opportunities for the door prizes. Again, we have some really cool stuff for the drawings
so hope you all enjoyed. Oh yes, the Western Express band had to cancel their gig with us
due to one of the members being ill. Unfortunately, there will be no more of their band. It is
sad because that tells me the member who is ill must be really sick, so sorry about that.
However, we were able to engage another band, one we have had in the distant past. At this
time I cannot tell you much about them as I have not heard them play. I just know several of
our members remember and speak highly of them. By this time next month we will know the
band was good and everyone had a great time. I will keep you posted on how it went.
Bunco was held in September with Fran M. acquiring the most wins, Lori H. and Judy K.
shared the most Buncos pot, Shirley D. had the most baby Buncos, Kevin and Cheryl O.
shared the most losses, and Twila D. finished with the fuzzy. Everyone had a great time.
We just had our Dine Out at Mimi’s Restaurant last Thursday. We had a small but hungry
group. We all had great food and hope we get to go back there again in the near future. Ron
and Yolanda do such a good job selecting a nice variety of restaurants. We really
appreciate their effort! We did decide not to have a Dine Out in November because of the
Thanksgiving Holiday.
The Ladies’ Luncheon was held in Palm Springs at the Manhattan Deli. It was wonderful
food and large portions! Unfortunately, one of our cars was in an accident a couple of blocks
from the restaurant. Fortunately injuries were minimal and everyone walked away. However,
Sue Sloan’s car was totaled. We are just grateful that everyone is OK.
Looking Ahead
The November Ladies’ Luncheon is being planned for the Tamale Factory Restaurant in
Riverside on Monday, November 12th at noon. The Tamale Factory is located across
from the Mission Inn in downtown Riverside at 3663 Main Street. Call your reservations
in to Marilyn Dawson or Lori Humphrey by November 7th. This promises to be a real treat.
I looked them up on the Internet and it sounds positively wonderful!
Lori, Marilyn and friends are also busily planning the Ladies’ Holiday Luncheon at the
Moreno Valley Ranch Golf Clubhouse for Monday, December 17th at noon. They will
need reservations by December 6th. There will be a special menu as we have had in the
past. If you have never been to one of these luncheons, you really need to go as these ladies
go all out and provide mountains of special holiday goodies.
Due to the Thanksgiving Holiday we will not be having a TGIF in November.
December will be bringing other activities such as the clubhouse decorating and cookie
exchange party. We will also be planning our Holiday Dinner. Watch for details on
these special and fun events.

"The American President"
Widowed U.S. President Andrew Shepherd (Michael Douglas), one of the world's
most powerful men, can have anything he wants -- and what he covets most is
Sydney Ellen Wade (Annette Bening), a Washington lobbyist. But Shepherd's
attempts at courting her spark wild rumors and decimate his approval ratings in this
romantic comedy. Rob Reiner directs, and Michael J. Fox and Martin Sheen co-star.
The film was nominated for a Best Score Oscar. 1995 PG-13
Bring a snack to share.
Beverages will be sold for $1.00.
To my neighbors and friends,
I want to thank you for your thoughtfulness and caring concern for Louie. Also, thank
you for the many cards and flowers I have received which mean so much to me. I feel
so blessed to live in a community that treats its members as family. I will keep all of you
in my thoughts and prayers as you have kept Louie and me in yours.

Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Buck
Most of you knew me as “Buck”. I was Ken
and Shirley’s dog for all the years we lived
in Mountain View. I had a cancer operation
a year ago and the vet gave me an extra
year to enjoy my life on earth. The rides in
the golf cart with Mom and the good dog
food Dad prepared for me, gave me a good
life on earth. I shall miss Mom and Dad and
all their friends. Enjoy life cuz it is short –
especially if you’re a dog. Love to all
