+ Cannons Marina receives Five Star Dealership Certification
Cannons Marina has earned Marine Five Star Dealership Certification in recognition of its customer service. The
certification is an industry standards program that addresses the quality of dealer sales, service, parts, follow-up,
facilities and employee and customer satisfaction. Criteria compliance is verified by an independent program

+ Longboat Key Club announces its All Together holiday party
The Longboat Key Club and Resort will hold an “All Together” holiday party that will allow small businesses to
enjoy a lavish holiday party at a reduced cost. Small businesses can reserve tables for eight to 30 employees and
enjoy a cocktail hour with a cash bar, butlered canapés and hors d oeuvres, a holiday buffet dinner, live
entertainment, dancing, holiday décor and optional table wine and champagne. The event takes place from 6:30
to 10:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at the Longboat Key Club and Resort, 3000 Harbourside Drive. Cost is $55 per

Consider It Done, an errand and personal assistance service for residents, vacationers and local businesses, is
now available on Longboat Key.
Consider It Done provides such services as holiday shopping/gift wrapping, errands, shopping, transportation,
accompaniment, property monitoring, home-arrival preparation, party and event planning, organizing, deliveries, accounting services, computer training, bill paying and more.

+ Mote caviar is on the menu at 16 Florida Whole Foods locations
Mote has joined forces with gourmet food distributor Marky s to distribute its Siberian caviar to 16 Florida Whole Foods Market locations.
“When we first heard of this fabulous caviar being produced right here in Florida, we knew immediately that we had to carry it in our stores,” says Joey Wells, regional
specialty coordinator for Whole Foods Market Florida region.
The caviar is produced in eastern Sarasota County under Mote Aquaculture Park s mission to develop sustainable fish farming technologies to take pressure off of wild fish
stocks and increase food security in the U.S. This mission coincides with Whole Foods Market s farmed seafood standards.
“Our missions intertwine nicely — we re just a perfect fit,” says Jim Michaels, manager of Mote s Siberian sturgeon program.
The caviar is $55 per ounce and will be available year-round. Proceeds from the product sales support all of Mote s research and development efforts.
+ Blue Marlin opens in Bradenton Beach
A new restaurant, Blue Marlin, has opened in the remodeled cottage at 121 Bridge St., Bradenton Beach. The restaurant, owned by Adam Ellis, will be serving local seafood
from Bell s Fish Market and Cortez Seafood Market, Adam s ribs, steaks, wine and beer.
The cottage is decorated in a mariner s style, and there is also an outside dining area called “The Trap Yard” with a place for children to play. Live music will be featured on
the weekends. Dinner will be served Monday through Saturday. Call 896-9737 for more information.
+ Sarasota Yacht Club hires new marina manager
Amanda Holm has been hired as the manager of marina and water sports at Sarasota Yacht Club.
Holm will manage marina and water-sport activity including slip reservations and assignments, oversee marina service people, billing, maintenance of security procedures
and record management and daily maintenance of the marina. She will also develop and oversee a youth sailing program and assist in organizing regattas and cruises.
“Amanda s extensive boating and instructional experience, in addition to her proven commitment to customer service, make her a wonderful addition to Sarasota Yacht Club
and further our goal of hiring highly qualified individuals for our key positions,” says Bernhard G. Kloppenburg, Sarasota Yacht Club general manager.
