Welcome to FALL - Mt. Prospect Park District
Welcome to FALL On behalf of the Mt. Prospect Park District Board and Staff, I welcome you to our newly redesigned Fall program brochure. We hope you enjoy the overall look and improved layout. The Park District has grown in its first 60 years! Currently, it includes 506 maintained acres with six distinctly diverse public facilities offering over 800 recreational programs. In Spring 2014, the Board of Park Commissioners made the decision to move forward with a major golf course renovation. The Mt. Prospect Golf Club recently reopened and we invite you to come out and play a round of golf. We hope you agree the newly designed course is one of the best public golf courses in Suburban Chicago! Fall is the perfect time to get out and “Take time for Fun”! Enroll in a program, attend a special event, sign up for a fitness membership or simply enjoy one of our beautiful parks. It is our goal at the Mt. Prospect Park District to act as a cornerstone in the community with an eye on excellence in all areas of recreation. We strive to improve the quality of life for you and your family. We look forward to serving you in your quest for FUN! 2 Cover photo courtesy of Nile Young Table of Contents Fall Fun. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 4 Golf . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 6 Aquatics. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 10 Fall Highlights . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 16 Conservatory. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 17 Performing Arts. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 19 Visual Arts. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 28 Winter Arts & Events. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 26 Athletics. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 31 MPPD Fitness Centers . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 45 Passport & Spin. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 46 Fitness Programs . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 49 Early Childhood. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 52 Parties. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 60 Registration. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 63 Map. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 65 Facility Abbreviations: CCC - Central Community Center LRC - Lions Recreation Center MP - Meadows Pool RPX - RecPlex FPC - Friendship Park Conservatory MPGC - MP Golf Course www.mppd.org BSP - Big Surf Pool MPPD DIRECTORY Directory Board of Commissioners Steve Kurka - President Timothy Doherty - Vice President William Starr - Secretary William (Bill) Klicka - Treasurer Ray Massie - Commissioner Mike Murphy - Commissioner Lisa Tenuta - Commissioner Administrative Staff Greg Kuhs - Executive Director Brett Barcel - Director of Golf Operations Jim Jarog - Director of Parks & Planning Barry Kurcz - Director of Business Services & Human Resources Brian Taylor - Director of Recreation Ruth Yueill - Superintendent of Community Relations & Marketing Cheryl Lufitz - Community Relations & Marketing Manager Facilities Administrative Offices 847-255-5380 Fax: 847-255-1438 1000 W.
