Agency, local fashion designers will be
given the opportunity to get their work
paraded down the Festival catwalk! Plus,
competitions to find the Face Of The
Ouseburn Valley and for the best
t-shirt design.
Some of the most dramatic changes in
the valley are happening at the mouth
of the Ouseburn where the newly
constructed barrage will maintain a high
water level in the burn at all times, while
still allowing passage of small boats to
and from their moorings and slipway on
Lime Street. We will hear of the historical
development of the mouth of the
Ouseburn and, of course, the purpose
and construction of the barrage.

Please meet in the Churchyard. This
will give visitors an opportunity to see
gravestones of some of the local residents
at rest here before visiting the church itself
which was built in 1768 on the site of a
very ancient chapel. We’ll hear something
of the history of the building and its place
in the community.
