Braxton Braxton Bragger Newsletter for June 2016 Join Us—www.braggausa.org President’s Message THANK YOU—I ACCEPT THE CHALLENGE OF SERVING as your president for Operational Year July 1, 2016— June 30, 2017 and Operational Year July 1, 2017—June 30, 2018. I am humbled and honored at the confidence you have placed in me. I pledge to you my 100% effort to continue the All American Spirit you so richly deserve. Our Board of Directors for the new Operational Year are committed to work together for a Great Year to further the Association of the United States Army’s Aims, Objectives and Strategic Communications to better serve you. Your Board of Directors are all volunteers, serving without pay, who are Retired Army, Veterans and Civilians. I am confident your Board of Directors will set the example you expect. Soon we will announce our objectives for the Operational Year and will pass them on to our membership. Of course, none of these objectives can be achieve without your support. Your Board of Directors are listed on page 8 of this Newsletter. 1 Braxton Bragg Chapter Association of the United States Army Scholarship Ceremony, June 9, 2016 Braxton Bragg AUSA Scholarship Ceremony The Braxton Bragg Chapter of the Association of the United States Army and local supporters came together in supporting the educational aspirations of 16 current aspiring university level scholarship awardees. On June 9, 2016, during a Scholarship Ceremony attended by guests of the recipients, leaders, Soldiers and Civilians, Braxton Bragg Chapter awarded 13 $1,000 scholarships. This event, one of the ways that Braxton Bragg Chapter supports the community, provides direct support for future generations in meeting the high cost of higher education. Andrew McFowler, President of Braxton Bragg Chapter, along with sponsors, awarded the scholarships to recipients: Cedric Craig, Caitlin Craven, Rourke Donahue, COL (Ret) Peter Edmonds accepted scholarship for Daniel Edmonds, Allison Elrod, Hannah Gordner, Samuel Gordner, Connor Lewis, COL (Ret) Thomas Miller accepted scholarship for Cameron Miller , Joseph Musiol, Rebecca Swierkowski.
