Robot Depths rules: Please carefully read these rules before
Robot Depths rules: Please carefully read these rules before submitting a robot: Weight limit: 250 mass Heavy - 200+ Middle - 150 - 199 Light - 100- 149 Feather 50 – 99 Price limit: 5,000 resource The first tournements will be any weight class (generally best to be heavy) General building rules To ensure balance in the competition, there are a number of regulations on weapons: ➢ No lasers, cannons, missiles etc: this is robot wars! ➢ A robot may have the maximum of 5 rams/drills due to the fact they take no kinetic damage (meaning too many would make an invincible robot) ➢ A robot may use spin blocks to create or simulate 'moving weapons' i.e a spinblock with a beam and a ram can be an 'axe' ➢ Turrets are forbidden ➢ All spin block weapons need to have motor drive set to 10, so that they consume power when used ➢ Unlike the current robot wars rules, robots without moving weapons ARE allowed ➢ Robots may be powered by either electric OR fuel engines not both! no nuclear reactors either! ➢ Electric and fuel robots may be replenished using any means before the battle, but are not allowed fuel refineries or means of replenishment etc. during the fight ➢ NO RUBBER BLOCKS! the floor is aleady rubber so you have no excuse! ➢ Robots are allowed jets, ions etc. but are not allowed to be designed as flying machines! ➢ Maximum of 10 wheels allowed ➢ The robots may not use AI and must be player driven or radio controlled ➢ No repair bot or tentacles! ➢ No tactical nukes! ➢ No light blocks, they're weird! ➢ Don't use inappropriate names, such as profanities, racism etc. ➢ Don't create bots that are phallic or lewd etc: this isn't Robocraft ➢ The robot and your name/alias will be eventually displayed fighting on a Robot Depths Youtube channel: don't submit a design if you aren't happy with this! Specific weapon settings: If a weapon fits into one of these categories, its spin block must have the correct settings for balanced play: Axes/hammers/kickers: Instant spin drive fraction: 0.10 maximum Pincers/claws/beaks/lifters/srimec: Rotatable no drive fraction limit Circular saws/flywheels/spinners: Instant spin drive fraction: 0.30 maximum Full body spinners/drums: Instant spin drive fraction: 0.20 maximum If your weapon doesn't fall into any of these categories, make your weapons spin block settings the same as the most similar weapon. Otherwise, feel free to ask. Those are construction rules, failure to comply means you cannot use the machine. Each robot will be inspected before it enters the tournament and you will be informed of any errors. Tournament process: ➢ These are the rules for a standard tournament: ➢ The tourney opens with 2 eliminators ➢ 4 contenders fight in each eliminator in a free for all manor ➢ The two winners from each eliminator go through to the next round ➢ The four remaining contenders will all fight eachother in a series of one-on-one matches ➢ A robot wins 3 points for a victory ➢ A robot wins 2 points for a win by judges decision ➢ This carries on until every robot has fought eachother ➢ The robot with the most points is through to the heat final ➢ The robot with second most points must fight them in the heat final ➢ If two robots are joint second in points, then the winner of the fight between those 2 bots is through to the heat final ➢ The finalists then engage, the winner is the champion of the heat ➢ There are 5 heats, with the winners of each going through to the finals ➢ Then, one of five heat semi-finalists is selected to join the finalists in the finals ➢ The finals then play out in a similar way to the heats until the grand final between two bots ➢ The victor of the grand finals wins the Depths war and wins the coveted Golden Chump Battle rules: The battle rules are very simple: ➢ All robots start on either the red, blue, green or yellow spots on the arena ➢ In a one-on-one match, the robots always start on either the red or blue spots ➢ Robots will wait for the '3,2,1 ACTIVATE!' signal for combat to begin ➢ Combat continues for 3 minutes maximum ➢ A competitor loses the round if they are: ➢ Immobilised: unable to move and counted out for 10 seconds (This count can only happen for one robot at a time, this count does not extend beyond the 3 minutes unless in a final). A robot can only be counted out if the opponent stops attacking them ➢ Out of bounds: lifted out of the arena into the water ➢ The pit of oblivion: hitting the floor of the pit results in instant loss ➢ Disqualified: Activating repair tenticles, attacking with your avatar and modifying your robot inside of battle results in disqualification Reccommendations: ➢ Rather than a vehicle controller, use a complex controller so that you can use the spin block weapons and drive the robot at the same time ➢ Fuel engines provide plentiful power, but are easier to immobilise than electric engines ➢ Shields are useless, but you can have them if you want to look cool ➢ Careful where you put spin blocks, they are easily broken ➢ Dont forget to press v when constructing your bot: you'll need to check your weight and cost ➢ Clusterbots are allowed but between bots they must still comply with weight, price and weapons limits, you can bring a friend to pilot the bot ➢ BUILD A GOOD BOT! Thank you for your interest! Rossil Fuel Please note the rules are subject to change, this is just a first attempt!
