Volume 4 • January 2014 Issue Caleb Elliott in Concert Inside this issue: Tuesday, January 7 @ 6:00 PM Library Events Center Children’s Corner 2 BeTwixt & BeTween 3 Teen Zone 3 Hot New Titles 4 Adult Programs 4 Calendar of Events 5 On the Scene 6 Monday Movies 7 Do you enjoy pop music? Does your Louisiana pride get you dancing to a Cajun beat? Do you love to watch for fun new talent? Then this concert is ‘Where You Wanna Be!’ Caleb Elliott is a singer, songwriter, cellist, guitarist, band leader, and child prodigy, but none of this can give you the feel for his fun, free-ranging pop style. With experienced collaborators like vocalist Susan Cowsill, bassist Tom Drummond of Better Than Ezra, and guitarist Sam Broussard of Steve Riley & The Mamou Playboys, Caleb Elliott has taken his labor of love and produced his debut album, ‘Where You Wanna Be,’ with the help of online donations through Kickstart.com. Born and raised in Natchitoches, the Lafayette-based artist also penned all the songs on his debut album, making it a true personal journey for him artistically and stylistically. As his web bio states, “Elliott’s songs are slices of love and life, stories of folks looking for their place in this world. From the bouzouki-and-tremolo-fueled folk-rock of ‘Speaking of’ to the lovelorn ruminations of ‘I Would Never’ and on through the joyriding title track reprise of ‘Le Reel Fâché,’ ‘Where You Wanna Be’ is an album to remember.” This free concert is open to the public, so don’t miss out!
