WELCOME FROM THE NATIONAL DIVERSITY COUNCIL
Dennis Kennedy
Founder & CEO, National Diversity
Council
Welcome to the 5th Annual Florida Women’s Conference. I believe it behooves organizations, and in particular the leaders
of organizations, to look past their limits. This Conference offers an opportunity for you to observe, learn, network and hear
different perspectives from a diverse mix of executives who have made the climb up the “corporate ladder.” You will gather
a wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise from some of the best female executives speaking on topics that will address
the personal and professional challenges faced while successfully rising to the top in their respective organizations.
I encourage you to take the initiative to meet new colleagues, talk openly about today’s topics and exchange ideas. It is my hope
that your experience today is rewarding and allows you to gain some insight to reflect on your own goals and status in an effort
to help catapult you to the top in your own career development.
We sincerely appreciate your attendance today in support of the Florida Women’s Conference and National DiversityCouncil.
I would like to thank all of our corporate sponsors, panelists, moderators, chairs, planning committee members, and volunteers.
Without each of you, this event would not be a success.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Vicky Garcia
Chief Operating Officer & Co-owner
Cruise Planners, an American Express Travel Representative
Vicky Garcia is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and co-owner of Cruise Planners, an American Express Travel
Representative, where she oversees the marketing, group inventory, franchise sales, as well as the operations department.
She is now among the most respected women in travel, and her hard-working path is what led her there.
As a Cuban American female growing up in South Florida, Garcia was never the academic type, but was always interested
in learning – in her own way. At a young age, she jumped into the corporate world at Royal Caribbean International, which
in hindsight launched her travel career. As a self-labeled “techie,” she is always interested in the next big thing and her natural
curiosity and quick wit have served her well.
Vicky believes she has a responsibility to give back and encourages others around her to follow suit. Her contagious spirit
and commitment to charity work helped create “CP Cares” a program dedicated to raising and donating funds to charity.
Despite her demanding career, Vicky spearheaded a 10-week campaign raising an unprecedented $115,000 to support
lifesaving blood cancer research and was named The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Women of the Year. She continues
to be involved and currently sits on the Board of Trustees and has helped the organization raised more than $1 million.
Vicky continues to be a beacon of strength and believes that a foundation of giving back, remembering where your roots
and surrounding yourself with a hard-working team makes you a better person.
