Cabinet Frame ¾” thick x 1 ½” wide solid hardwood rail and stile members. Center stiles are ¾” thick x 3” wide solid hardwood. All joints are precisely aligned, bonded with adhesive and secured with screws. End Panels ½” thick-47 lb. industrial grade particleboard finished inside and out with a water and household chemical resistant resin impregnated laminate; machined to accept tops, bottoms, backs and shelves. The interior is a birch grain pattern and the exterior is an oak/maple grain pattern. Cabinet Tops and Floors Wall - ½” thick — 47 lb. industrial grade particleboard for extra strength and rigidity finished on two sides with birch grain pattern. Dado joints and adhesive are used to join the top and bottoms to the ends, face frame and hang rail. Base - ½” thick — 47 lb. industrial grade particleboard for extra strength and rigidity, finished on one side with birch grain pattern. Dado joints and adhesive are used to join the bottoms to the ends, face frame and hang rail. 1” x 1 ½ ” hardwood floor supports are used to reinforce the bottoms of 48” and wider cabinets. Nylon corner blocks are used on upper corners for reinforcement. Toe base are ½” industrial grade particleboard with birch grain pattern that encloses the open area from the cabinet floor to the bottom of the cabinet. Backs 1/4 ” hardboard finished on one side with a birch grain pattern and joined to ¾” x 2 ½ ” hang rail with a rabbit joint and adhesive for superior strength. Shelves Adjustable shelves are made of 5/8 ” thick, 47 lb. industrial grade particleboard finished on both sides with a water and household chemical resistant resin impregnated laminate with birch grain pattern and edge banded on the front edge with a .018” PVC edge band. Shelves are supported by locking shelf clips with holes spaced 32mm apart in cabinet ends. Drawers Sides, back and front drawer components are all wood and English dovetailed. The drawer bottoms are ¼” veneered plywood retained with a dado joint on all four (4) sides. All joints are bonded with adhesive and nailed. Drawer box depth is 3” less than cabinet depth. Standard drawer guides are 100 lb. capacity, undermount, with double captive rollers and a baked on, non-toxic epoxy finish. Euro door and drawer styling conceals all but 3/16” of the front side stiles and therefore extra attention must be given to clearances, such as corners, appliances, walls and ceiling. Martrix 6 Wood Doors and Drawers1 — All raised panel doors(expect: Jamestown, Farmington, Gainesville & Huntsville) are made of ¾” solid hardwood machined on four (4) sides with a cove profile retained by a machine grooved 2” wide door frame. All recessed panel doors (except Mission) containing a ¼” select hardwood veneered panel retained by a machine grooved 2” wide door frame. Jamestown has a ¾” MDF (medium density fiberboard) with an oak or maple veneer raised panel, machined on four (4) sides with a cove profile and retained by a machine grooved 2” wide door frame. Mission is a recessed panel door containing a ¼” select hardwood veneered panel and retained by a machine grooved 3 ¼ ” wide door frame. Gainesville & Huntsville have a raised panel made of ¾” solid hardwood machined on four (4) sides with a cove profile retained by a machine grooved 3 ¼ ” wide door frame. All wood doors are joined at the four corners with mortise and tenon joints. All joints are bonded with adhesive and metal pins and use six (6) way adjustable hinges. All raised and recessed panel door styles have drawers with ¾” thick solid hardwood drawer fronts with an optional five (5) piece drawer front available on the Hallmark and standard on Farmington and Innsbrook door styles (see door description above). Full overlay door and drawer styling conceals all but 3/16” of the front side styles and therefore extra attention must be given to clearances, such as walls, appliances, corners and ceilings. All doors and drawers are provided with bumpers to deaden noise. Rigid Thermo Foil Doors and Drawers — Cameo is a one piece, white Rigid Thermo Foil, 5/8” thick MDF (medium density fiberboard), raised panel standard overlay door and drawer with six (6) way adjustable concealed hinges and bumpers to deaden noise. Finish Brandom cabinets are available in a variety of stains. All stains contain pigments that are selected to highlight the beauty of the natural grain of hardwood. Components are sanded to prepare the surface for staining. Doors, drawer fronts and frames have a lacquer base stain applied by spray to them; then sealed with a catalyzed sealer to prevent the wood from absorbing or letting off moisture followed by another sanding. After the sealer has been sanded a catalyzed varnish top coat is applied to create a durable envelope which protects the hardwood from abrasions, household chemicals and detergents. Cabinet Packaging All Brandom cabinets are faced wrapped with heavy duty corrugated cardboard. In keeping with Brandom’s continuing commitment to value and quality, we reserve the right to change materials and design specifications without notice, as improvements are developed, without being obligated to incorporate such changes in products of prior manufacture. 1. Hickory has wide variations in color that range from light to deep brown. Some specialty cabinets, accessories and trim items may have less variation. Martrix 7 Caution: Self-cleaning appliances generate intense heat during a cleaning cycle and the integrity of the appliance seal or gasket may be compromised with age, improper installation, etc. We recommend the removal of door and/or drawers from cabinets adjacent to, or directly above the appliance during the cleaning cycle to prevent possible finish or surface damage. Wood Disclaimer Our finished doors feature stains which allow the full beauty and character of the wood to show through. Since no two trees are identical, their wood will vary in color, texture and graining. This is beauty, warmth and charm of real wood. Martrix 8 CABINET HEIGHT ALIGNMENT CHART Matrix 9 STANDARD OVERLAY (SO) AND FULL OVERLAY (FO) Framed cabinets can have several different looks depending on the way the doors are hinged to the face frame. Full overlay (FO) styles have doors that cover almost all of the cabinet front. There is a face frame but very little of it is exposed. Standard overlay (SO) styles have doors that overlay the face frame 1/2". Doors and drawer fronts typically measure 1" larger in height and width than the door or drawer opening. The 1" is split 1/2" on each side and 1/2" at the top and bottom. CAUTION – Full overlay door styles conceal all but 3/16" of the front styles and 1/2" front top and bottom rails, therefore extra attention must be given to clearances, such as corners, appliances, walls and ceilings. STANDARD OVERLAY FULL OVERLAY When two adjoining FO cabinets with square outer profile, such as Shaker, the opposing doors may interfere with each other when they are both opened. Full overlay cabinets mounted next to a wall; A filler should be used to provide room for the door to fully open. The filler should be sized to allow for molding and other objects that may be mounted to the wall. Matrix 10
