Using the BVRLA Logo
Introduction
Welcome to the BVRLA – I’m delighted that you’ve
decided to join the trade association that provides a face
for the vehicle rental and leasing industry, communicating
its messages to customers, the media and government.
The BVRLA’s corporate identity, particularly its logo,
forms part of that message.
Your logos
If you are a corporate member of the BVRLA…
this is your logo
The BVRLA has three categories of membership, each with a logo that members
are entitled to use (and, in some situations, are obliged to use). Appropriate use
of our logo tells your customers, your suppliers, and the rest of the world that you
adhere to the high standards that come with BVRLA membership.
This brief guide explains how we expect our logos to be displayed – and
how they should not be displayed. These are not hard-and-fast rules, and we
sometimes depart from them ourselves, but we do expect our members to
respect them and to gain our prior approval before using our logo in any way
other than described here.
If you need a copy of our logo, for use on your printed marketing material, or to
go on a page of your website, please contact our communications team, who will
be happy to send you an EPS or JPEG version appropriate for your purposes.
If you have any queries about use of the BVRLA logo that are not addressed in
this guide, they will also be able to help

Colours for logos
Each of our logos is available in three colour variants: colour (red and blue), black and white
We are happy to give you colour
references for BVRLA Blue and
BVRLA Red, should you need them.
Whether in print, on web pages or in
digital publications (such as PDFs),
our colour logo should be used
against a plain white background.
They can be supplied as CMYK,
RGB or Pantone.
In traditional newsprint and other black-ink-only
print work, our logo should appear entirely in black
on a white background…
…or in white out of a black background

Colours for backgrounds
Plain backgrounds provide the only suitable backdrop for the BVRLA logo.
Our colour logo should appear
against a white background only.

Sizes for logos
There is no restriction on the maximum size at which you may display our logo (provided that it is not used so large that image
quality is diminished), but there are restrictions on the minimum size at which it may be displayed.
In print, this is the smallest acceptable size:
HEIGHT:
2 cm

WIDTH: 4.9 cm
In digital formats, such as a web page, this is the smallest acceptable size:
HEIGHT:
57 pixels

Using the BVRLA Logo
Space around logos
Our logo looks best when it has ‘room to breathe’.
Please allow some clear space around it, the same colour as the background upon which it is placed (usually this will be white).
Please do not allow text, graphics or other logos to intrude on this area.
The ‘exclusion zone’ should be at least equivalent to the width of the ‘B’ in ‘BVRLA’, whatever the size of the logo.

Examples of incorrect uses
Misuse of the BVRLA logo creates confusion as to who we and our members are. Members should never use a logo other than
that for their own category of membership; non-members should never use a BVRLA logo at all, in any context, unless they have
received specific permission to do so from the BVRLA.
Several other errors to be avoided when using the BVRLA logo are illustrated below.
