LEISURE Page 6 LINES DYNAMITE EMPLOYEE What is the best book you have ever read? “I don’t have a best book, but I love Clive Cussler.” Do you have any pets? “Yes! We have a black lab named Zoe, and she is the best dog in the whole world.” Do you have any special talents or hobbies? Rick Ely, who is the Fleet Service Coordinator for the Work Training Center has been nominated as our next Dynamite Employee. It is Rick’s job to service and maintain a portion of WTC vehicles and busses, keeping each one of them operational and out on the road. Rick has quickly become an amazing asset to Do-It Leisure with his continuous effort towards keeping both program participants and staff safe out in the community. Rick’s dedication to maintaining WTC’s vehicles in a timely manner and always being available when we need him are just a couple of reasons for our appreciation. He truly cares for what he does and has a positive attitude that seems to be contagious to others around him. To get to know Rick a little better we asked him some questions and this is what he said… “If being good looking is a talent...then yes! I love to keep busy and do all sorts of stuff around the house, such as putting down hardwood floors, building patios in the back yard, etc. And yes, I do all of these things with my wife. She isn’t just my wife, but is my best friend and partner in everything that I do.” How do you handle stress or how do you relax? “I handle stress by remembering that tomorrow is another day and when there is a tomorrow there is always a chance of it getting better. And if that doesn’t work, I sit in the back yard with a nice cold ice tea and some music. That usually does the trick!” What is your best Do-It Leisure memory? “I love the dances because they are so much fun! I am a kid at heart and WTC is the perfect place for me to be me...I guess it’s my happy place.” If you were stranded on a desert island, what one item would you most want to have? “My How long have you worked for WTC? “I have worked here for almost four years.” wife...Okay maybe a boat...but then I wouldn’t be stranded, would I? Okay, then it would be my wife because together we can do anything.” What do you enjoy most about your job? Where do you see yourself in 10 years? “Right “Everything! I get to do what I love to do and work with some of the most wonderful people I know!” where I am now, but in fifteen years I see my wife and I living on a sailboat in Mexico...yay me!” If you won a million dollars, what would you Over time, how many WTC vehicles have you worked on? “It seems like thousands, but probably a do with it? “I would pay off some bills, and put lot more...lol!” What do you like to do in your free time? “Family is very important to me. I love my wife more than anything in this world and we do almost everything together. We like to camp, go for walks, and in the summer we like to go on motorcycle rides.” the rest of it in the bank. If I had two million I would do the same, but also buy a retirement home so I could take care of older people that need help.” Is there anything else you would like us to know about you? “There is a lot more to know about me, and the best way would be to come see me.” Don’t forget to congratulate Rick the next time you see him around WTC!
