Visit the Sturgeon Bay shoreline to welcome the Tall Ships the late afternoon of Wednesday, August 3, 2016. Ships will muster at the entrance of the canal on Lake Michigan and come into the bay to dock for the evening. We invite you to view the Tall Ships from any public access area. ➤ Trolley rides to and from docking locations within Sturgeon Bay, sponsored by Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center. Trolley stops at the corner of Third Avenue and Louisiana Street (Corner Café) for pick up and drop off for those parking at the Public Parking ramp on Second Avenue. ➤ Canal Road overlooks, Door County Land Trust, and the U.S Coast Guard Station grounds will be open for viewing ➤ Memorial Drive-Viewing Areas (No access on shore) ➤ Stroll dockside & see the ships along Sturgeon Bay’s waterfront! ➤ Door County Maritime Museum will extend their evening hours until 7:00 pm. Visit the museum and view the Tall Ships from the second floor for indoor viewing. *Schedule subject to change due to weather and sailing conditions. Ships will be docking for the evening with no public boarding. Talk with the cute robot about water safety education. And take a photo with Baby Duck #FindMamaDuckgb ➤ Send off the Tall Ships as they depart Thursday morning with a Pancake Breakfast for Adopt-a-Soldier – Door County. ➤ Stay in Sturgeon Bay and enjoy shopping and great dining! ➤ Take a dockside stroll with the backdrop of the Tall Ships. Don’t forget your camera for a lot of photo ops. ➤ Enjoy city parks, free entertainment, and community hospitality. Tall Ships sail from Algoma to Sturgeon Bay 3:00 – 4:00pm Fleet to muster off the coast of U.S. Coast Guard Station—Lake Michigan Sail training demo by Sail Training Foundation, off shore of Sturgeon Bay Yacht Club 3:30 – 6:30pm Trolley Rides to and from docking locations within Sturgeon Bay 4:00 – 5:30pm Ships proceed into Sturgeon Bay channel in groups, and dock downtown Sturgeon Bay for the evening on both east and west side docks. 4:00 – 6:00pm Welcome the ships | View map for key public viewing areas. Dockside docents share the story of each Tall Ship. Sons of Norway give a Norwegian Velkommen! (welcome) to the Draken Harald Hårfagre sponsored by Door County. 6:00pm Kayak Tours depart | Otumba Park. Once again it’s expected to be one of the largest outdoor events in Northeast Wisconsin. Tall Ships arrive late afternoon. **Tickets for this exclusive opportunity include sailing on-board a Tall Ship (trip approximately 6 hours) as well as a one day admission to the festival August 5-7.
