MIDLAND CENTER FOR THE
SEASON
arts
Welcome
to the 2015-2016
Exhibition and
Performance Season!
As always, our calendar is filled with performances and
exhibitions that will educate, inspire and excite you. From
our season-opening musical – Mary Poppins! – to our
production of The Nutcracker, MATRIX:MIDLAND’s
professional programs (including canine insights from
TV personality Cesar Millan), classic songs from the
Great White Way, and the “logical insanity” of Dr. Seuss,
I invite you to “Escape the Ordinary” this year at Midland
Center for the Arts. I bet along the way you’ll discover new
interests of your own, as well as surprising talents of friends,
neighbors and coworkers.
For a more casual experience, our twice-monthly
“Uncorked” series of artfully inspiring happy hours
has gained quite a following. So if you haven’t had the
opportunity to join us yet in the Saints & Sinners Lounge,
please mark your calendar to stop in from time to time. It’s a
great opportunity to meet friends (or make new ones) while
exploring a new theme each night – from art discussions to
cabaret-style performances by local stage veterans.
Finally, on a personal note, many of you know I will retire
during this season. Thank you for allowing me the privilege
of being part of an organization that so artfully touches lives.
Rest assured that under our new leader MCFTA will continue
to engage people and change lives – and make magic happen!

Can you imagine a world without the arts?
We can’t. In addition to the joy it brings, involvement in the
arts helps children develop the curiosity and skills needed
for a lifetime of learning.
But did you know that ticket and tuition sales cover only
34% of our costs? The rest comes from generous supporters
like you.
You can make an investment in creating tomorrow’s brighter
