Spiridon “Niko” Karidis Currently living in Athens, Greece, Niko Karidis started his youth career with Panathinaikos FC USA—St. Louis Academy. Niko a former captain of CBC HS in St. Louis, moved to Greece to finish his HS career and elevate his football knowledge and passion for the game. Niko has also attended the PAO FC Residency Academy. He will be returning home this summer to attend St. Louis University on a soccer scholarship representing the Billikens! Tessa Wagner Moving into her junior year next season, Tessa Wagner was part of PAO USA’s first Women’s recruiting class to go onto the next level and play in college. Tessa attended her first two years at Lewis & Clark Community College, where she lead her team to the National Tournament in 2015. Tessa will be transferring next season to Southwest Baptist to finish her college career and receive her degree in Elementary Education. Grant Owens Grant joined Panathinaikos FC USA—St. Louis Academy when he was 14 years old and finished his club career with PAO. Grant has traveled to Athens, Greece to train in the PAO FC Residency Academy before committing to play D1 college soccer at St. Louis University. Grant is currently giving back to the youth players of PAO-St. Louis where he serves as a club trainer for the club. Former PAO FC Residency Academy Players... Charis Mavrias At the age of 13, Charis joined the PAO FC Residency Academy and was promoted to the first team 3 years later with his first professional contract. He is the youngest Greek born player to ever appear in the UEFA Champions League. In 2013, Charis Mavrias joined Sunderland of the EPL . Marvias was loaned back to Panathinaikos FC in 2015 and is currently on loan to Fortuna Düsseldorf in Germany. Giorgos Karagounis The most capped player in Greek National Team history, Karagounis has won numerous titles, including the UEFA Euro in 2004 with Greece. Karagounis left Panathinaikos in 2003 to sign with Italian side Inter Milan, he then left Inter in 2005 to sign with Benfica in Portugal. His love for PAO FC saw him return to the club in 2007. After 5 years with PAO FC, Karagounis transferred to EPL club, Fulham. Angelos Basinas Spending 10 years with Panathinaikos, Basinas was one of 9 starters for the Greek National Team that won the UEFA Euro in 2004, along with the Greek Cup and League with PAO FC the same year. In 2005 Angelos Basinas signed with Mallorca, from Spain and went on to sign with Portsmouth in England. Angelos Basinas finished his career with the Greek National Team in 2009 with 100 appearances and 7 goals. PAO FC 02/03—RDA State Champions! PAO FC 02/03—RDA were the first team in PAO USA club history to be crowned State Champions of Missouri Youth Soccer Association in the 2015. This amazing group of talented players were the only girls team from the St. Louis area to win a State Title in 2015, in the U12—U19 age groups. Head Coach, Aaron Wagner had a previous President’s Cup State Championship with his PAO FC 95/96—Academy team two seasons prior. The team has continued to develop and will be competing for a second State Championship in June 2016. PAO USA Teams take on Greece... PAO USA has sent numerous players to Greece for camps and professional trials. The club has also sent a HS-Boys and HS-Girls team to train and play against some of the top competition in sanctioned international friendlies. Our Greek Soccer Tours are a once in a lifetime opportunity for players to experience. Not only do players experience the professional soccer environment, they also get to explore the ancient Greek culture while visiting. The LAC is home to PAO USA and the facility is in the process of expanding to offer not only indoor turf options for training, but also outdoor turf options. Phase (1) of the project will include a lighted sand volleyball court, as well as (1) lighted 9v9 turf field, that can be setup for (3) 7v7 fields as well. We are in the design stage with engineers with a finished product coming in 2016 for the first field of play! Coaching Education & Licensing Tactical Analysis Education PAO will hold coaching education classes and licensing for all club coaches in the fall and spring seasons. Individual Player Evaluations PAO coaches will conduct player evaluations at the end of the fall and spring seasons for each player on the team. He also played professionally in Australia. Nicholas holds a UEFA “B” License and will conduct all coaching education and tactical analysis for coaches. He will also oversee the entire training platform for PAO USA. Aaron Wagner—Vice President & COO Aaron Wagner has an extensive background in sports management from, youth to professional teams and will oversee all operations for PAO USA. Aaron has been coaching club soccer since 2003 and brought PAO USA their first State Championship in the 2014 -2015 season with the PAO 02/03—RDA team. Corey Adamson—National Director of Soccer Corey Adamson, joined PAO USA as a trainer in 2014, bringing a wealth of knowledge with him. Corey was a standout at the University of South Carolina-Aiken before becoming a professional athlete. Corey’s dedication to player development will lead all players on a successful path. Corey will design/run all club training and oversee all coaches. Elliott Ballmann—Staff Goalkeeping Trainer Elliott Ballmann has had an outstanding playing career, holding many records at the University of Oklahoma Science & Arts. Elliott has coached at the youth, high school and college level. Elliott has a unique approach to training goalkeepers, breaking down all aspects of the game for each player. Sam Farhadi—Staff Trainer Sam Farhadi has been with PAO USA as a staff coach and trainer since 2011. Sam’s ability to break down the technical component of the game for each player and focus in on the details helps our players execute and succeed. Sam grew up in Iran, where he played professional soccer in the 1970’s. Alex Ramirez—Staff Trainer Alex Ramirez joined PAO USA in 2015 as a staff coach and trainer, as he relocated from Texas. Alex has an extensive playing and coaching background from his youth days in Mexico, being drafted by first division team Tampico Madero in 1982. Alex has over 17 years of playing experience and 9 years of coaching experience. Richard Schmermund—Staff Trainer Richard Schmermund is a St. Louis area native who grew up in Ferguson. Richard’s collegiate career was spent at St. Louis Community College, where he was awarded First Team All Conference. This is a pass through cost that is set by PAO FC in Athens, Greece and paid directly to the professional club. This fee is required for all PAO youth academy players worldwide as a member of their professional organization. Your PAO membership benefits for the 2016-2017 season will include: Training that mirrors the European professional team training curriculum, Discounted rentals at the Lamborghini Gold Coast—Athletic Centre., Discounts for all PAO camps/clinics and One free entry into the PAO Holiday Camp, held between the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. Payment Options: PAO will offer (4) different payment options for your club fee for U6—U14 and will offer (3) different payment options for U15-U19. If you choose anything above a (1) payment option, there is a $5.00 per payment processing fee added to your overall amount. During your online paperwork registration you will be given the different options to choose from. Facility Training Fee: PAO will be utilizing a combination of turf/sportcourt/ training outdoor and/or indoor training facilities, for uninterrupted year round training, without risk of cancellations. The facility training fee is per player and will be collected by the team manager as a “team” fee. For U6—U14 teams, the fee is $200.00 per year. This fee can be split into (2) payments of $100.00. Payment (1) will be due by 8/15/15 and Payment (2) will be due by 2/15/16. For U15—U19 teams the fee is $100.00 per year. This fee cannot be split into (2) payments. HS-Girls will be due 8/15/15 and HS-Boys will be due 2/15/16. Financial Assistance: PAO offers financial assistance to those families who qualify. After you complete your online paperwork registration packet, you can select whether you would like to apply for financial assistance. Once this option is selected, you will be e-mailed a separate form for the financial assistance. If you are given financial assistance, it will be part of our PAO Work-2-Play Program™, in which you will be required to volunteer at PAO events in exchange for the financial assistance given to your family. This assistance is only for club fees and does not cover any other fees. Commitment Fee: PAO will be utilizing a “commitment fee” this year that is non-refundable and due at the time of registration. By paying this “commitment fee” it will guarantee your child a roster spot. For existing PAO players, who wish to return and are offered a spot, this fee will be due by 6/1/16. For new PAO players, this fee will be due at the time you are offered and accepted a roster spot after the evaluation process. The commitment fee is part of your club fee and will be deducted from your total amount of club fee. The amount of the commitment fee is $200.00 for all players. If your child falls into the U9-U14 age group, after you pay the commitment fee, your remaining club fee balance would be $550.00, which can be paid in (1), (3), (6) or (10) payment options. Winter Training Program: PAO will be offering a “Winter Training Program” that is an optional add-on at time of registration. This program is an additional fee and will be discounted 50% ($125.00) for PAO members who register in advance at time of registration. Non-PAO Members the program cost is $250.00. For any PAO members that want to register after the paperwork cut-off date the amount will be $150.00. This program will consist of (10) weeks, (2) times per week for a total of (25) training hours.
