From fabric G, cut: • (8) 2½" x wof strips; crosscut into: (30) 2½" x 5½" rectangles (30) 2½" x 3½" rectangles 2. Sew 2½" x 6½" fabric D From fabric A, cut: • (3) 10½" x wof strips; crosscut (8) 10½" setting squares 1. Sew a fabric D strip the both long edges of the fabric E strip to make a strip set. From the strip set, cut (15) 2½"‐wide segments. rectangles to each side of a segment from step 1 to make center units. 3. Sew 2½" x 3½" fabric F rectangles to 2½" x 3½" fabric G rectangles to make (30) units, each measuring 2½" x 6½". 4. Sew a unit from step 3 to each side of a center unit. 5. Sew 2½" x 5½" fabric F rectangles to 2½" x 5½" fabric G rectangles to make (30) units, each measuring 2½" x 10½". 6. Sew a unit from step 5 to each side of a unit from step 4 to compete the blocks. Make (15) blocks. Quilt Assembly
7. Lay out the blocks, the fabric A setting squares, and the fabric B setting squares in six rows of five blocks each, alternating the blocks and setting squares in each row and from row to row as shown in the layout diagram at right. 8. Sew the blocks together into rows and press the seam allowances toward the setting squares. Sew the rows together; press. 9. Sew 2"‐wide fabric H inner‐border strips together end to end. From this strip, cut (2) 60½"‐
long strips and sew them to the sides of the quilt top. From the remaining strip, cut (2) 53½"‐long strips and sew them to the top and bottom of the quilt top. 10. Sew 6½"‐wide fabric C outer‐border strips together end to end in pairs. From the long strips, cut (2) 63½"‐long strips and sew them to the sides of the quilt top. From the remaining long strips, cut (2) 65½"‐long strips and sew them to the top and bottom of the quilt top. 11. Layer the quilt top with batting and backing; baste. Quilt as desired.
