GENERAL INFORMATION THE HOTEL Frenchman’s Reef & Morning Star Marriott Beach Resort opens a window to the best of the Caribbean – and invites you to enjoy a new perspective on the island experience! Discover a casual approach to sophistication and a serious commitment to service on the island of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Take in the St. Thomas scenery from one of four swimming pools, indulge in relaxation at the Lazule Sea Spa, enjoy sports fishing, golf, tennis, scuba, kayaking, or just relax on the white sands of a private beach or explore over 60 islands. CLIMATE AND DRESS The average daily maximum temperature for St. Thomas in February is 85 degrees and the average minimum 73 degrees. The dress is easy because it is definitely casual - casual sportswear and comfortable shoes for day. For evenings, dresses and pants outfits for the ladies and sport shirts for the men will be fine. Jackets and ties are not generally required for men in the restaurants. The dress for the President’s Ball is business/business casual. AIRPORT TRANSFERS AND RENTAL CARS The cost of round trip transfers to and from the airport is included in your registration fee. We have chosen Caribbean Tour Services to provide round trip transfers to and from the airport. The company will handle your bags as well. Renting a car is not advisable since they drive on the opposite side of the road. Please provide your arrival and departure information on the registration form. The Marriott Frenchman’s Reef is approximately 6 miles from the Cyril E. King Airport (STT) in St. Thomas. NOTE: There is no rental car service on-site at the hotel. However, a gondola-style ferry runs every 30 minutes to/from town for $7 each way. Good Morning Road Builders, There has been some confusion when making room reservations for the TRBA 2015 Annual Convention at the Frenchman’s Reef & Morning Star Beach Resort, February 18‐22, 2015, in St. Thomas, USVI. This is a wonderful resort and they offer many options listed below. There are actually two properties: Frenchman’s Reef and Morning Star. Frenchman’s Reef is on top of the bluff and will be where the meeting space is located and the majority of rooms. Morning Star is down on the beach and is an upgrade on rooms. It is approximately a 4‐5 minute walk or you can ride the shuttle to and from the Frenchman’s Reef. ROOM RATES Our room rate is $368 Run of House. This allows you to get a Resort View or Water View at the Frenchman’s Reef (on the bluff) or to get a Garden View at the Morning Star (on the beach). NOTE: Once the block of Water View rooms at Frenchman’s Reef are taken, there is an option to pay $383 for a Water View room upon availability. They have also given us a special upgrade rate of $468 for Beachfront at the Morning Star. ROOM DESCRIPTIONS Resort View guest rooms are located at Frenchman's Reef.
