Maruni Collection 2016 – New Product Information
We announce the Maruni Collection 2016 by Naoto Fukasawa and Jasper Morrison that are beautiful
combination of solid wood and steel. The “Hiroshima” stackable chair and stool by Naoto Fukasawa
combine slender stainless steel legs with a fine luster and solid wood. The “T” chair and “O” stool by Jasper
Morrison, which combine solid-looking colored steel and maple wood, have a friendly impression. While
the design approach of each is different, by incorporating the different materials into the new chairs, both
designers have attained beauty and functionality.
Please enjoy each of these new chairs.
The video will show the design process for these new works and the thoughts of the designers.
The stand is designed by our Art Director, Naoto Fukasawa.

< Hiroshima Armchair Stackable, stool Concept/ Naoto Fukasawa>
The line leading from the arm to the back of the Hiroshima chair is distinctive, and it is a beautiful chair of
solid wood that is carved three-dimensionally like a sculpture. Taking advantage of the same kind of line,
the new stackable chair and stool follow the connection between the back, the arm and the seat. It has been
designed with the thought of wanting to make the shape beautiful as seen from the back. The appearance of
the stool and stackable chair from behind was particularly important. The harmony between the narrow and
shiny stainless steel legs and the solid wood is beautiful.

< T chair, O stool Concept/ Jasper Morrison>
T Chair is made of 3d machined solid maple wood with seat and back joined with a formed, painted strip of
sprung steel which improves comfort. The coloured metal S shape provides a contrast with the wood and an
element of freshness to a familiar typology.
O Stool is similarly of 3d machined solid wood and the stool mid and high have painted steel tube footrests.
The handle, consisting of an elongated hole machined through the centre of the seat is shaped for maximum
comfort when carrying the stool. It is also a familiar typology revitalised with improved comfort and new
materials.
