The graduation of SIGVARIS Compression Stockings is correct
and constant during the entire time of wearing the stocking,
giving a maximum success-rate. Depending on the scale of the
operation and the subsequent result, medical compression
stockings should generally be worn between one week in very
simple cases and up to 3 months in difficult cases.

The elastic fibers of this special stocking are made of natural
rubber (elastodiene). An important characteristic is their
absolute fatigue resistance. It is vital for the compression to
remain stable all day long, thus preventing bruising and
edema as far as possible.
The free mobility of the ankle is guaranteed, and because
the stocking is not bulky, the patient can wear his normal shoes.

Varicose ulcers are the most severe consequence of venous
diseases and affect roughly one person in 50. It is possible to fight
effectively against the decisive mechanisms leading up to the
formation of an ulcer by means of compression therapy. These
mechanisms consist of hemodynamic modifications in the veins
(stasis, venous reflux, turbulence) with overloading of the vein pumps
