AlUmnI AWARDS - alumni UBC - University of British Columbia
Call for Nominations THE 2009 UBC AlumnI achievement AWARDS Alumni Awards Program For more than 90 years UBC alumni have embodied the vital role their university plays in society. From among their ranks have come the artists and researchers, the civic leaders and sporting heroes, the activists, volunteers and business gurus whose spirit, innovation and passion have had such positive impact on UBC, their communities and beyond. The annual Alumni Achievement Awards present an opportunity to recognize some of these outstanding, yet often modest, men and women for their accomplishments. The example they set should be applauded and encouraged. But in order to identify these people we need your help, and we’re counting on you to bring deserving alumni to our attention. If you know an extraordinary grad with a remarkable record, demonstrate your respect and appreciation by nominating them for an award. (Please note that two of the awards – honouring outstanding students and faculty members – do not require alumni status.) To nominate online, go to www.alumni.ubc.ca/nominate List Of Awards Alumni Award of Distinction The Alumni Award of Distinction recognizes the outstanding achievements of a UBC alumnus (undergraduate or graduate) whose endeavours in professional research, civic duty, business, athletics, the arts, the community or other areas have made a significant contribution to the community and UBC.
