Visit to Reflections at Bukit Chandu Museum
An AEC Event: Visit to Reflections at Bukit Chandu Museum
On 20 July 2012, about 25 PACE staff and SP Adjunct Lecturers spent the afternoon visiting the
Reflections at Bukit Chandu Museum. Mr Vincent Gabriel , a member of our Adult Educator
Community (AEC), gave us an interesting insight into the historical battles bravely fought against the
Japanese invaders at Bukit Chandu (Opium Hill) during World War II. Reflections at Bukit Chandu was
built to commemorate the fierce WWII battles fought in Singapore.
(Director PACE, Mr V. Maheantharan & Ms Vyna getting an insight on some of the battles gallantly
fought against the Japanese invaders in Bukit Chandu Hill)
(Mr Vincent Gabriel, our adjunct lecturer who also happened to be the guide for the trip giving a pep
talk in the Bukit Chandu Museum)
After the museum tour, the group took a relaxing stroll to the Hort Park to enjoy the scenic view of
the gardens and the flora in the glass houses. Our adult educators were amazed by some of the rare
and intriguing plants housed in the Hort Park.
The main objective of this activity was to foster a closer working relationship between PACE and the
Adult Educator Community (AEC). At the same time the trip also provided opportunities for the AEC
to network amongst themselves. .
