What is a Vitrified Mug?
The word vitrified comes from the Latin word vitrum, which means glass. The English translation is
vit•ri•fy: To change or make into glass or glassy substance, especially through heat fusion.
Vitrified ceramics have been fired to a higher temperature than normal. This high fire makes the ceramic body
so dense, it becomes glass-like, or vitrified. Because of this, vitrified ceramic mugs are impervious to water absorption in hot commercial dishwashers - the leading cause of ceramics breaking down in a commercial setting.
This line of Vitrified Ceramics from Buntingware™ is manufactured to stand up to the rigors of
commercial use. They are ideal for use in Restaurants, Cafeterias, Hotels, Catering Businesses, or in any situation where durable
ceramics are needed. In addition, Buntingware™ uses inks that are fired higher than normal inks to improve imprint durability.
