ARIZONA REGION VIPER CLUB
4TH QUARTER • 2013
As I write this, 2013 is now behind us. We had an outstanding year with a variety of club events that
took us from cruising to the Kitt Peak Observatory and the top of Mt. Lemmon in Tucson to participating
in the famous Route 66 Fun Run Cruise in Williams, AZ. Our major three day over night event took us
to Four Corners and Window Rock. Of course enjoyable dinners at local restaurants and a Car Show at
Lake Pleasant filled in the other months. The year concluded with our traditional Holiday Party held at the
beautiful Wild Horse Pass and Casino. The pictures below give a good indication of the fun filled evening
we all experienced.
When I reflect back on the events of this past year I can only conclude it will go down in the history
of our club as memorable for all the fun and camaraderie we have had; monumental for all the changes
we have experienced and history making for the direction we have chosen to pursue. We were witness to
unprecedented issues that took our once premier national car club in two different directions. Fortunately,
the Arizona Region was pretty much removed from the epicenter of the controversy. We were able to maintain
our focus on enjoying our friendships and the awesome cars that bring us together.
As 2013 came to a close we witnessed the birth of a new national organization the Viper Owners
Association. With your support your Board of Directors realigned our Regional Club allegiance to the new
VOA. We are excited about the future prospects of the new National Organization and we want to thank all
of you for the support you have given us verbally and in your e-mail and most certainly for the 93% vote of
confidence that we are moving in the right direction. We have some exciting events identified for 2014 and
we are encouraging you to volunteer to work with our Social Directors to plan and organize one of these
monthly events. It’s your club and I encourage you to get involved and make it even better than last year.

DECEMBER
Holiday Party
The 2013 Holiday Party was held at the beautiful Wild Horse Pass Hotel
and Casino in Chandler, AZ. It was an enjoyable evening of fun, laughter,
good food, phenomenal gifts, raffle prizes and auction items. With the
generosity of our sponsors and your holiday spirit we raised over $2,000
for the 2014 club treasury and received many beautiful toys for our annual
toy drive. Thank you to Bill Luke Chrysler Dodge, Larry H. Miller Dodge,
Avondale, MaehammotorSports, Cordes Performance Racing and Cactus
Window Tint and most of all to our generous members. Congratulations
to Goot Brewer selected as our 2013 Member of the Year for his enthusiasm
and active participation in all of our club events. We also recognized Vince
and Vi Marsello for their record setting participation in all twelve VOI’s.

NOVEMBER
Dinner and Business Meeting
Our
combined October
and November event was a dinner and business
meeting in conjunction with our annual food drive. It was held at Speakeasy’s
in Chandler. The most important issue on the agenda was discussing the controversy surrounding the
VCA, the impact on our Regional Club and the start up of a new National Viper Owners Association. However,
Speakeasy’s provided their own form of intrigue when it took over 2 hours to serve food to the 41 members
present. Unfortunately a disgruntled chef absconded with all the meat and steak knives earlier in the day! While
frustrating for everyone it did make for interesting conversation. We want to thank the members who attended
this important meeting for their patience and perseverance.
