features a glittering array of comic talent including Sue Johnston (The Royle Family, Waking
The Dead) who stars as Sal Vine, a feisty practice nurse and phlebotomist at the local
surgery who turns to the women’s guild when her Doctor husband suddenly dies and
she finds herself alone and without a job. In this special, The Guild prepares to put on a
Christmas play, with open auditions of varying quality. Tash insists on taking the lead role,
ignoring the fact that she might be getting a bit old for the part.
