Deep Tissue
Ever had a time in your life where you just want to relax, have a massage and give yourself a total
pampering session? Well, I just did last Wednesday. It was a busy day and since I was glued to my bed
for so long, I only made it to one Forma class in the morning. :( Yes, I’m back to my not-so-regular
programming. I’m in that ‘praning’ mode again since I feel like a pig right now. But anyway, Arnie, Ava &
I went together to Ki Neo Day Spa for a good dose of massage.
“Ki” in Japanese meant flow of energy. They consider it the foundation and source of life on which out
physical well being and spiritual contentment is built. At Ki spa, they have tons of different treatments
that you can choose from. We were all supposedly gonna have two services but since we were late, we
only had time for one. But still, the experience was amazing. It was just perfect for us three who has
been stressed out for the past few days.

Arnie opted for their own version of “hilot” which was the Qi Tranquility massage — The Japanese
concept of harmony and well being focuses on the energy circulating in the body. Their Qi Tranquility
massage is all about relaxation of the mind and body. It also comes with Japanese oshibori ritual.

Before you even start, you get to choose which kind of oil will be used for you, I chose the metal oil
which was basically peppermint. They said it’s perfect for sore body. Ava & Arnie chose wood which
was lavender. It allows your body to relax more.

Ava had a Hawaiian Lomi Lomi — a unique flowing, vibrant and deeply relaxing full body massage. It
seeks to release all the negative tension in both the mind and spirit. She also had this bamboo kind of
sound in the beginning and end of her massage.

I, on the other hand had a Deep Tissue massage — this therapeutic and corrective aromatherapy
massage technique uses strong pressure methods to focus in depth on the different layers of muscle
tissue recommended to release chronic muscle tension due to stress and strenuous activities.

Mine was pretty hard. It was in fact the hardest massage I’ve ever gotten. BUT NO REGRETS. I really
felt the change in my body after. I really felt every muscle in my body alive and kicking. I love how they
use knuckles and elbows in doing the massage. It gives a different sensation to your body every stroke.
I highly recommend this to all those who work out a lot since it will rejuvenate every muscle and you’ll
be more than ready for another day in the gym.
To cap off our stay in Ki, they served us with warm water/tea, depending on your choice. :) I surely did
have a great day with the Ki staff and of course, my girlies as well. As soon as we finished we headed
out to Greenhills for a good dinner + sweets. Good day. Ki by Neo Day Spa is located in Greenhills.
They also have branches in Boracay (Neo Island Spa) and in BGC (Neo Day Spa).
