Twinkle Bus Shiretoko
Tour easily by combining buses and trains!
Hokkaido s vast expanses of land attract travelers the world over. However,
there are some tourist sites that cannot be reached by trains alone. That is
why JR Hokkaido offers the Twinkle Bus exclusively for our train
passengers.
Operating in conjunction with the train schedule, the Twinkle
Bus allows travelers to visit tourist spots much more
efficiently.
Why not design a travel itinerary that fits your needs by
combining the train and Twinkle Bus?
Advance reservations
● Please
purchase ticket three days in advancein at JR Hokkaido stations . Tickets are available at JR Ticket
Counter (Midori-no-Madoguchi) or JR Travel Service Center (Twinkle Plaza ).(While stocks last)
● Please show your JR ticket at the time of purchase, or purchase both of them together.
● Holders of the Hokkaido Rail Pass or the Japan Rail Pass will have to pay the fare separately .
● Cancelation fees and other detailed conditions will be implemented in accordance with the
Japanese pamphlet.

1.Shibecha-Kawayu Line
Connecting from SL Fuyu-no-Shitsugen Train or DL Fuyu-no-Shitsugen Train, you can get a
hotel at the Kawayu Hot Spring after visiting Lake Mashu and Mt. Iou.
When you take SL Fuyu-no-Shitsugen- Train or DL Fuyu-no-Shitsugen Trainfrom Kushiro, the bus is waiting at
the last station, Shibetsu. It takes you to the beautiful winter scenery of Lake Mashu, the volcanic smoke of Mt.
Iou, and to the Kawayu Hot Spring. If you are staying at the Kawayu Hot Spring, you get off here to relax at a hot
spa inn.

2.Kawayu-Utoro Line
The same bus for the Shibecha - Kawayu Line is used to
connect Kawayu and Utoro Hot Springs.
If you plan to continue to Utoro from the Kawayu Hot Spring after taking
the Shibecha - Kawayu Line, please take this route.
※The same bus is used, so you do not need to change buses at Kawayu
Hot Spring. It will take you to the last destination, Shiretoko Utoro Hot
Spring.

3.Utoro-Shiretoko-Shari Line
After your stay at Utoro Hot Spring, you can take the Ryuhyo Norokko-Train the
next morning!
If you use the Twinkle Bus leaving at 7:35 a.m. from Utoro Hot Spring, it will connect to the Ryuhyo
Norroko Train leaving at 8:55 a.m. from Shiretoko-Shari Station. The Norroko Train arrives at Abashiri
Station at 10:00 a.m., in time for you to take the ice-breaking boat, or to visit the various tourist spots.

4.Kawayu-Shiretoko-Shari Line
Take this convenient route north in the direction of Abashiri,
when your visit to Kawayu Hot Spring is complete!
Starting at Kawayu Hot Spring in the morning, the bus stops at Lake Kussharo and
Sunayu (naturally heated sand and hot ground water), and proceeds to Shiretoko-Shari
Station. From Shiretoko-Shari Station, you may take the popular Ryuhyo Norokko Train
to Abashiri. Or you can take a local bus to Utoro.

5.Shirekoto-Shari-Shibecha Line You can enjoy both the Ryuhyo Norokko Train and the SL Fuyu-no Shitsugen Train
or the DL Fuyu-no Shitsugen Train in one day!
You will arrive at the Shiretoko-Shari Station on the Ryuhyo Norroko Train No.1 from the Abashiri
Station. Here, the Twinkle Bus will be waiting in front of the station for you. Take this bus. It will
connect to SL Fuyu-no Shitsugen Train or the DL Fuyu-no Shitsugen Train from Shibecha Station. You
can enjoy both the Ryuhyo Norokko Train and the SL Fuyu-no Shitsugen Train or the DL Fuyu-no
Shitsugen Trainin one day!
