2012 Reflections
For Insotect 2012 picked up with the exact same zeal that 2011 left off with.
Insotect Flow™ continued its legacy of award winning recognition for our distributor partners by picking up two more nods from Outside Magazine and National Geographic Adventure.
Even more exciting was the announcement of Insotect Tubic – the 6th Insotect insulation system. The announcement of Insotect Tubic™ was immediately met with great anticipation by
the market which resulted in an exclusive agreement with Big Agnes for its inaugural year. Insotect Tubic also represented the first strategic relationship between Insotect and Pinneco a 3rd party synthetic insulation partner. The synergy of this relationship and its reception by our partners is what makes us look forward so eagerly to our next year of achievements.
Insotect Flow™ Powers Big Agnes McAlpin Sleeping Bag to National Geographic Adventure Gear of the Year Award
VANCOUVER BC October 17, 2012 – Insotect Ltd., a leader in sleeping bag construction technology, is pleased to announce that its Insotect Flow™ insulation system has helped power the zero-degree Big Agnes
McAlpin SL sleeping bag to inclusion on the Gear of the Year list from National Geographic Adventure.
Insotect’s contribution to Big Agnes’s McAlpin SL sleeping bag includes the Insotect Flow insulation system. Insotect Flow is an evolution in sleeping bag construction; combining the presence of vertical thermal
channels (VTCs) with Insotect’s proprietary FlowGates™. Insotect Flow’s vertical thermal channels distribute heat more readily from head to toe compared with traditional side-to side horizontal baffles. The vertical
baffle construction enables the design of the bag to follow the contours of the user more closely, taking on a more comfort forming shape and keeping the insulation closer to the body. Heat can now effectively travel
the entire length of the channel alongside the body, bringing warmth throughout. Insotect Flow’s vertical orientation also requires fewer total baffles which translates into an overall lighter product due to a reduction in
material weight.
Insotect Tubic™ Adopted by Big Agnes for Spring 2013
VANCOUVER BC July 30, 2012 – Insotect Ltd. is pleased to announce that the company’s Insotect Tubic insulation system will make its debut as part of the Big Agnes sleeping bag product roster in Spring 2013.
The immediate adoption of Insotect Tubic by Big Agnes reflects a positive step forward for both companies in working together to deliver leading innovation to the outdoor gear market.
Building on the momentum of previous Insotect insulation systems, Insotect Tubic represents the latest innovation in construction technology for sleeping bags that utilize synthetic fiber-insulation.
Insotect Tubic combines the presence of two Insotect proprietary technologies; Vertical Thermal Channel™ (VTC) and DualVault™ into one complete vertically baffled insulation system. This system allows a pair of
arched insulation fibers to run unobstructed from head to toe while supporting the integrity of the insulations arched form.
This unique construction method traps more air than conventional systems by increasing vertical loft (from body to the outside environment) and horizontal loft (from head to toe) which in turn enhances heat retention.
The additional loft combined with the exceptional resiliency of the arched insulation fibers subsequently provides a degree of extra cushioning against rough outdoor contours.

Continuing Innovation
As we look ahead to 2013, Insotect has positioned itself to establish new benchmarks on
the strength of growing partnerships and collaborations. On the horizon lies the reality of
working with an expanded distributor line up and an expanding presence in North America
as well as Europe. The role of Insotect being solely a sleeping bag innovator may also
become a forgotten notion as we leverage existing and new innovation into bold, and
exciting new category opportunities.
With the successful launch and ongoing sell through of Insotect Flow powered products,
we will be looking to the future of synthetic bags with Insotect Tubic™ - our newest
insulation system. Insotect Tubic marks the first strategic alliance between Insotect and
Pinneco Research Ltd. – a supplier of leading edge synthetic insulation. Also joining in
on the excitement is Big Agnes who recently secured an exclusive distributorship of
Insotect Tubic for 2013. The future is bright and we anticipate to have many highlights
from this launch in 2013.

Through 2012 Insotect has made great strides in sharing its innovation and design know-how with our partners. With the success of those
collaborations comes the opportunity to strengthen and expand those inroads. 2013 will show an expanded presence in partners’ product
rosters such as Big Agnes, Sierra Designs and Marmot. Insotect Flow stands to occupy a greater share of market space, spawning more
bag variations and venturing into potentially new categories.
As we kick off another new year we look forward to formally announcing new relationships with exciting new partners both at home and
abroad. The strength of Insotect’s innovative intellectual property has drawn enthusiasm from new suitors such as NEMO, Salewa,
Brooks-Range and Stoic (Backcountry.com). Building on the strength of our existing relationships while bringing new brand partners
online allows us to provide an improved outdoor gear experience for a broader market in both North America and Europe.
