It’s time for the local Blue Ridge Mountains to change color, for the local high school football rivals to pick their battles for the season, and for families to reach ultimate confusion as to whether to run the air conditioner or the furnace right now. Whatever you choose during this season of unpredictable weather, we hope that you have had a great summer and are looking forward to a joyous fall and winter season. Regarding The Coachmen, we are in the process of completing our promotional tour for the “Arise” CD that we released earlier this year, and gearing up for a busy Christmas concert season. How glad we are that the holiday season is soon approaching. This year we have a special gift to offer our listeners; the long awaited “Christmas with the Coachmen” CD that we recently released for sale. In this newsletter, we will be speaking more about that new CD, along with our holiday concert series. Additionally, we want to invite you to our first live concert video project that will be occurring in November, as well as our second Western Caribbean cruise that will set sail in February aboard the Norwegian Majesty. Finally, we want to share with you an article that Americana Rhythm magazine so kindly published recently that featured The Coachmen, which focuses on the After years of requests, we have finally recorded a Christmas project, which we recently released for sale. The CD includes 10 of our holiday favorites, and was recorded as a live set. From “Let It Snow” to “Do You Hear What I Hear” to “Til’ the Season Comes ‘Round Again”, the collection includes something for everyone. Please contact The Coachmen directly if you’d like to purchase a copy; the CD will also be available for purchase at select retail locations throughout Staunton and surrounding areas during the holidays, in addition to our upcoming shows. th Dec. 15 - Special Dixie Theater Christmas Concert Each December, we dedicate our concerts solely to Christmas music, culminating with our annual Christmas show at the downtown Dixie Theater in our hometown of Staunton. The Dixie show, our third annual, will be held on Saturday, th December 15 . Two shows will be held this year, at 5:30 and 7:30 PM, and the program will solely feature The Coachmen. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 6-12 years, and children under 6 years are admitted free. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the theater box office or on the evening of the show, or can be reserved at (540) 885-6230. Be Part of the Live Coachmen Concert Video! Join the Coachmen for their live concert DVD taping on Saturday, November 10th at 7:00 PM; Clifford Baptist Church, Amherst, VA. Be part of this promotion! th The Coachmen’s November 10 concert at Clifford Baptist Church in Amherst, VA will provide the raw footage for the group’s first promotion video and full length concert DVD. The public is encouraged to attend this show which will be filmed by a Virginia Beach production company for the purpose of promoting the group and future DVD sales. To accommodate the needed footage, The Coachmen will perform its typical Americana gospel set followed by a special Christmas concert. While periodic set changes and re-takes will be required, the program will otherwise represent the group’s live concert format. The evening will begin at 7:00 PM and is expect to last 2-3 hours. Coachmen featured by Americana Rhythm In its September – October 2007 issue, Americana Rhythm Music Magazine, which reports on the music culture of the Shenandoah Valley, Central Virginia, Blue Ridge, Piedmont and The Virginia Highlands, so kindly published a full-page article focusing on The Coachmen. The article, titled “American Gospel”, speaks to the history of our family group, why we refer to sound as American Gospel, and generally what we are all about as an entertainment act. Book Now For February 2008 Caribbean Cruise Select Tours’ 2nd Annual “Cruising with the Coachmen” scheduled for February 2008 aboard the Norwegian Majesty. In February 2008, and we will again be one of the featured acts aboard the Norwegian Majesty. A local travel agency has reserved a block of cabins for a trip again titled “Cruising with the Coachmen” for folks who wish to travel with The Coachmen and join them onboard for activities. This 7-day rd cruise departs from Charleston, SC on February 23 and stops in the Grand Caymans, Cozumel, and Key West. A special per couple rate of $1,467 for interior staterooms and $1,747 for ocean view rooms has been negotiated. This price includes bus transportation to/from Staunton/Charleston, port charges, and government taxes. Single rates and airfare are also available; availability of cabins at this special price is limited.
