Prize list and Entry Form

HORSE IN HAND RANCH, BLACKFALDS, AB
Featuring the 2013 CWHBA Foal Futurity
CWHBA Stallion Licensing
CWHBA Mare Inspections
-We are excited to be able to host the 2013 Canadian Warmblood Breeders show and look
forward to seeing everyone and their horses. This year we have a smaller venue with the focal
point being the mare inspections. The last couple of years we had a larger show but this year we
are hosting at a smaller facility. Horse in Hand has a beautiful arena with a welcoming feeling, so
it should be a great day!.
Pages 1-7 are information about the show, and pages 9-11 can be printed off and submitted
or a digital version can be e-mailed to Jill (for digital the waiver must be signed and brought to the
show)our Show Entry Secretary. If you have questions or concerns you can phone any of the
individuals below or email. If there are special circumstances please let us know and we can try
and accommodate. This show is also a chance to have your mare inspected for CW breeding
approval, for offspring registration options. We are also very honored to be able to award High
Point Breeder for the show with a Garry Bresee Memorial Trophy.

*Stallion Licensing: All stallions go through an approval process in order for the offspring to be recognized
by a Warmblood registry. CWHBA uses the same model as the German registries and the process begins with
the Licensing of a young stallion, minimum 2.5 years old. The young stallion is judged in hand, free, and
through a jumping chute. If the stallion passes the test by achieving the required points he is given a breeding
license for two years. At the end of that time the stallion must complete the next step which is the Performance
requirements to be eligible to be Approved for a lifetime breeding license. For more information regarding this
process please see the CWHBA website, or National Office 306-373-6620
( http://www.canadianwarmbloods.com/inspection.php#stallion-inspection )

More Mare Inspection and Mare Show Information
Mare Show and Inspection Classes are ran at the same time for convenience and continuity in
judging. All the mares in the show and inspection will go through the classes (11,12,13) at the
same time. However, only the mares entered in the Show will be awarded placings. Mares can be
entered in both the inspection and the show or just the show or inspection.
1 - No Prizes are awarded for Inspection
2. - Owners of Mares entered in class’s 6a or c, 7a or c , and 8a or c (CWHBA Mare Inspection)
MUST produce a Certificate of Entry for the mare. Without proving the entry certificate, you will
be charged $100.00
3 - Mares of 3 years of age or older are examined in hand on the triangle. Any
Thoroughbred, Arabian, or Anglo-Arabian mare may be inspected for entry into the CWHBA
breeding registry. All CWHBA registered mares 3 years of age or older must (as of 1995) be
inspected for breeding entry.
4 - For the Mare Show, all horses entered must enter the ring and walk. Judges in the mare
show may change the order of placing and may change the score at the walk. All mares present
on the triangle. Ribbons to 3rd place and 1st and 2nd in each class go on to compete in Mare
Championship. You do not need to be entered in the mare inspections to be in Mare show classes
and vice versa.
5 – Mare Inspection – all mares present individually on the triangle and as a group at the walk.
Judges may change the inspection score of the walk based on the group walk. The High Point
Alberta Inspection Mare will be the mare with the highest points of all the inspections in Alberta,
including this show. No jumping is required. If you are entered in the Show also, your inspection
scores will be your Show score.
6.-.Mare Inspection including Free-Jumping- This is a new addition to the National Tour Mare
Inspection. All mares eligible for the National Inspection Tour High Point Mare must go
through the jumping chute and they will only compete against other mares in Canada, inspected
by the National Inspection Tour. These are classes c and d in the age categories below.
Participating mares are to be scored on free-jumping and canter as well as on the triangle. Total
inspection score will be the average out of 8 categories rather than the standard 6. For chute
set-up and minimum heights and widths by age please consult inspection pages at
http://www.canadianwarmbloods.com/Chute-for-Jumping.php
Please have your mare ready and familiar with the chute as you will only get a limited time to put her
through. She will score better if she is prepared.
Foal Identifiers may be available during the show. Be prepared to complete the required forms to register you foal. Bring
your paperwork and complete your foal registration conveniently at the show.. There will be a sign up sheet in the Show
Office, sign up, leave your registration papers there and we will make arrangements to have you foal Identified.
.See http://www.canadianwarmbloods.com/foal-registration.php to print your foal registration papers.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL BREEDERS AND COMPETITORS!
