The Classico Series™ system offers a unique design capability
with five different shapes that allows the creation of circles, fans,

Enviro-Holland has renowned durability of interlocking paving
stones, yet offers the old world charm with a new age technology. Interlock Paving Systems, Inc. has developed a Holland PICP
(Permeable Interlocking Concrete Paver) Stone that will help
manage and control storm water runoff.
APPLICATIONS
According to the Interlocking Concrete Paver Institute (ICPI),
industry research has demonstrated that PICP can reduce runoff as much as 100% from a 3 in. (75 mm) rain event with sandy
soil and a minimum 12 in (300 mm) thick open-graded aggregate
base. Given regional variations in annual rainfall and PICP base
storage capacities, PICP can reduce annual outflows between
30 and 80%. Well-maintained PICP can reduce flow rates by
70 - 90 % from intense rain events and up to 100% for many
storms. This yields a corresponding reduction in runoff pollution.

The natural ecosystems of bogs, wetlands, forested areas, and
undulating terrain work together to provide a natural means for
the infiltration of rainwater back into the Earth. A new philosophy
of storm water management is emerging through the efforts of
those involved in the design and construction of storm drainage
facilities. These facilities must control the detrimental effects of
storm water so that the threat to life, property, and the environment, can be eliminated. One way of reducing the impact of
development on the environment is the use of porous or pervious pavements. Porous pavements are designed specifically
to reduce, or in some cases eliminate this runoff and direct the
replenishing benefits naturally into the ground below.

Interlock-Turfstone™ reinforces grassy areas subjected to
wheeled traffic that would otherwise become compacted
inhibiting the permeability of the soil structure that is necessary for the grass to survive. The hard-surfaced green
space created by the Interlock-Turfstone™ paving system
is an ideal overflow parking facility for parks, historical sites,
institutions, University & School campuses, golf courses
and any location where public parking periodically peaks
extensively beyond everyday needs.
Interlock-Turfstone™ offers specific and distinct advantages
for controlling erosion and giving soil stabilization to slopes,
embankments, rivers and low flow channels, flood plains and
the shorelines of inland rivers, dikes, creeks, lakes, ponds and
reservoirs, where there is no extreme wave action.

Erosion control applications require the slope to be
graded uniformly (ideally to a 2:1 or gentler slope) before
bedding Interlock-Turfstone™ in a thin layer of sand. To
prevent migration of the fine granular material, it may
be necessary to place a filter fabric on the graded slope
before applying the stone and sand. The fabric should
permit re-vegetation. To support plant growth, openings
must be filled within ½ inch of the surface with suitable
top soil or a mixture of soil and fertilizer, then seeded,
sprigged or plugged.

For residential applications remove soil to a depth of approx. 7 ½ inch (109.5 mm). Install and compact 4 inches of
Crusher Run (ASTM crushed granite 21B) to a 95% Standard Procter. Spread concrete sand conforming to the grading
requirements of ASTM C33 to a depth of 1 inch (25mm) and screed level. Set Interlock-Turfstone™ and roll into sand
bedding course with a 1-3 ton roller with surface clean and joints open-do not vibrate with tamper. Follow erosion control
revegetation procedures. For commercial pavement excavate unsuitable, unstable or unconsolidated subgrade material
and compact the cleared area. Backfill and level with dense graded aggregate suitable for base material (typically 4-10

Paving stone colors are available in 10 baseline colors and 11
transitional composite blends. Final color selection should be made
with the understanding that exact color matching cannot be achieved.
Due to the nature of concrete paving products Interlock Paving
Systems, Inc. cannot make exact color matches. Actual color can
vary from batch to batch, cube to cube, and unit to unit. Two (2) color
transitional blends, (i.e. Cobble Blend #16 is a combination of #01
Virginia Natural & #06 Charcoal) require a minimum order of three (3)
cubes. Three (3) color transitional blends, (i.e. Albermarle Blend #246
is a combination of #222 Virginia Red, #04 Chestnut & #06 Charcoal)

Efflorescence is a white powder-like deposit which occasionally
forms on the surface of the concrete paver after installation. This is a
condition common to all cement-based products. It is caused by the
reaction of carbon dioxide in the air and free calcium hydroxide within
the paver. With further exposure to the elements will change the
white powder to a highly soluble calcium carbonate which is normally
washed away by rain. Typically, efflorescence will stop developing in
approximately 18 to 24 months.
MINIMUM ORDER REQUIREMENTS
LEED Credits
Limited production products require square footage minimums per
each shape and color. For production and quality assurance purposes
smaller orders are accumulated until 1,000 square feet of one paver
shape requirement is satisfied. Orders are then entered into the
production cycle. A 50% deposit is required to insure the production of
a certain paver shape and/or color. All materials will be the property of
Interlock Paving Systems, Inc. until final payment has been received,
and shall be subject to Virginia’s Mechanic’s lien law.
Under EPA guidelines as a permeable pavement,
our PICP (Permeable Interlocking Concrete
Pavers) Collection is considered a BMP (Best
Management Practice). The EPA in coordination
with the U.S. Green Building Council is
incorporating more storm water aspects into the
LEED Credits being awarded in green building
assessment systems.
