The management and staff of Blue Haven Marina would like to welcome you to Providenciales in
the Turks and Caicos Islands of the British West Indies. We hope the information contained in this
package about our ‘Beautiful by Nature’ islands will entice you to include this fantastic new IGY
destination on your cruising itinerary.
Conveniently located on the northeastern point of Providenciales, the marina is an ideal base from
which to explore the third largest barrier reef in the world and discover all the stunning cays and coastlines of the Turks and Caicos Islands. To ensure maximum luxury, the full resort amenities of Blue Haven
are available to all boat owners, guests and crew including a 51 room hotel, boasting a gym, private
beach and an infinity-edge swimming pool.
The marina is an extremely secure facility with a private entrance. We are currently able to berth yachts
up to 220 feet and a draft of 8.5 feet at mean low water. The marina can arrange for customs and
immigration to meet you upon arrival.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE PROCEDURES
Any foreign vessel arriving to the islands must proceed
directly to a port. Blue Haven Marina in LeewardGoing-Through is designated as an official port of entry.
Likewise, no vessel shall depart on a voyage to a place
outside the Islands from any place other than a port.
The Customs Ordinance further provides that the
master of every vessel arriving at a port from any
place outside the Islands shall immediately upon
arrival deliver to the Collector of Customs a Customs
Declaration Form, available at the marina office.

CRUISING PERMITS
PLEASURE CRAFT
The master of such a vessel should immediately
notify the customs officer of the vessel’s arrival with
the following forms:
FORM NO. C108 – vessel’s arrival form
FORM NO. C125 – stores on board
FORM NO. C124 – departure form
Fees for entry into and departure from the Islands
for a pleasure craft are currently $50.00 each
(total of $100). These fees entitle the pleasure craft
to remain in the Islands for a period of 7 days
without paying any customs duties. After the
expiry of those 7 days, the master must obtain a
Cruising Permit from the Collector of Customs
using Form No. C113. The fee for this Cruising
Permit is currently $300.00. This entitles the pleasure craft to remain within the Islands for a period
of 3 months without having to pay customs duties.
Additional fees will be applied at an hourly rate if
the customs official is required to attend to a vessel
outside normal working hours.
At the expiration of three months, the vessel must
be re-exported and the Cruising Permit shall be
returned. Without prior consent of the collector, no
pleasure craft shall be issued with more than two
cruising permits in any period of 12 months.

The deserted stretches of soft white sand and pristine turquoise waters
are a delight to the eyes. Turks and Caicos is home to some of the most
beautiful beaches in the world. In fact, the World Travel Awards named
Turks and Caicos as the World’s Leading Beach Destination 2012, and
TripAdvisor ranks Providenciales as the #1 Beach Destination in the World.
Of all the beaches, Grace Bay on Providenciales is the most renowned,
and is where the majority of hotels and restaurants are located. So take

DIVING & SNORKELING
Relatively unknown to most, Turks and Caicos is surrounded by the third
largest barrier reef in the world. With some of the clearest waters in the entire
Caribbean, the diving is truly spectacular with excellent visibility and an abundance of marine life ranging from tropical fish to turtles, rays and sharks. Some
of the best dive spots on Providenciales can be found along the reef at Grace
Bay and near Northwest Point. At Coral Gardens and Smith’s reef you can
snorkel directly from the beach. For those who like to venture just a little further,
fantastic diving can also be discovered on our neighboring islands such as the
west coast of West Caicos, French Cay and Salt Cay.

FISHING
Just beyond the reef are excellent deep sea fishing grounds to hook up and fight
the pelagic fish of the Caribbean, including Blue Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna, Mahi
Mahi and Wahoo. Bone fishing is also popular on Providenciales and throughout
the islands.

KITESURFING, KAYAKING &
STAND-UP PADDLEBOARDING (SUP)
The Turks and Caicos Islands are blessed with year round breezes ideal for
experiencing the thrill of kitesurfing – for both beginners and experts alike. Long
Bay beach on Providenciales has some of the best conditions to be found in
the entire Caribbean with a large expanse of clear, shallow water, perfect for
learning or trying new tricks. For the more experienced boarder, the mangroves
opposite Blue Haven are fun to explore on windy days.
For nature lovers, there are some unique eco-adventure excursions right on
Blue Haven’s doorstep. Kayaking or SUP in the shallow mangroves of the
nearby cays are a fun way to explore and spot birds, fish and other marine
life. Mangrove Cay and Little Water Cay (known as Iguana Island for obvious
reasons) are directly adjacent to Blue Haven Marina and an easy paddle away.

Blue Haven is the gateway to all the neighboring islands, most of which are
uninhabited. The marina has several recommended cruising itineraries through
the islands and would be happy to assist you in planning your charter. Gorgeous beaches, exceptional scenery and interesting wildlife along with traces
of history and culture give each island its own distinctive identity. Whilst you’re
here, take the opportunity to discover the paradise that Turks and Caicos truly
is. You can hire a car, a bicycle or take the inter-island ferry from Providenciales.
NORTH CAICOS
GRAND TURK
The most lush of all the Turks and Caicos islands, North
Caicos attracts much birdlife so bring your binoculars to
the Flamingo Pond Overlook where you can often see
flocks of over a thousand Greater Flamingos. Then step
back in time and walk amongst the fascinating ruins of
a 1789 Loyalist plantation. Relatively well preserved,
Wades Green Plantation offers tours and is supported
by the National Trust. For beaches, head to Horsestable
beach on the northern shore of the island.
The majority of Turks and Caicos’ heritage is retained
in the capital, Grand Turk. There is a National
Museum with some fascinating exhibits and artifacts.
Adjacent to the museum, the Botanical Garden pays
tribute to the local flora and fauna. Grand Turk is also
well known for its lighthouse, which despite no longer
being operational, is a lovely spot to visit and protected
by the National Trust. Grand Turk is also the port of
entry for the cruise ships gracing our waters.
MIDDLE CAICOS
CAYS AND OTHER ISLANDS
Accessible via a causeway from North Caicos, Middle
Caicos is the largest of all the islands. The spectacular
views of Mudjin Harbour are undoubtedly the most scenic. There are many lovely shores to choose from such
as Bambarra beach for an inviting swim in the shallow
water. Middle Caicos is also famed for the Conch Bar
Caves National Park, where you’ll find the largest cave
formation above water in the Caribbean.
It’s exceptionally easy to find yourself in a remote and
private location. Pine Cay, Parrot Cay, Salt Cay, French
Cay, Fort George Cay and West Caicos all have
stunning stretches of white sand and excellent dive sites.
Nature enthusiasts will love Little Water Cay where many
iguanas roam free.
However you choose to spend your time, we know you’ll love the
paradisiacal islands of the Turks and Caicos and all they have to offer.

cruising itineraries for Turks and Caicos
As a full service marina, Blue Haven Marina has compiled
some sample cruising itineraries as suggestions on how
to make the most of your time exploring the Turks and
Caicos Islands.
These 10, 7 and 5-day itineraries have been crafted using local knowledge of the region and by listening to captains’ recommendations. Of course some of the remote
islands are so captivating you may wish to spend more
than one night. All provisioning should be done on Providenciales, which our full service marina can support with,
as many of the islands suggested are uninhabited.
When visiting areas without a Large Vessel Anchoring
Zone (LVAZ), please be careful to ensure you anchor on
sandy bottom and not anywhere that might disturb the
coral of these “Beautiful by Nature” islands.
We hope you find these itineraries useful – and please
provide us with your feedback on how your cruise or
charter went as we’re always looking to assist future
marina guests with helpful advice.
10+ DAY ITINERARY:
DAY 6: Head to French Cay for some of the best snorkeling and spectacular diving in all of Turks and Caicos.
It is also a peaceful sanctuary for migratory birds.
This island is also uninhabited. Distance: 70 miles
DAY 7: Set course for West Caicos where there are many
excellent dive sites off the west coast and also several
moorings. Note that anchoring is not permitted on the
western side, but there are two LVAZs – found on the east
and northeast sides of West Caicos. Distance: 18 miles
DAY 8: Make your way back towards Providenciales
to Northwest Point where there is a LVAZ off Sam Bay.
Book ahead for dinner reservations at Amanyara
Resort. Distance: 14 miles
DAY 9: Cruise gently into Grace Bay beach and enjoy
the day anchored in the LVAZ. Distance: 12 miles
DAY 10: Arrive back at the full service marina at Blue
Haven for the end of the charter. Distance: 5 miles
START: Blue Haven Marina, Providenciales.
7-DAY ITINERARY:
DAY 2: Head to South Caicos, cruising around the north
of the islands where the water is deeper. This is the longest passage of the 10 day itinerary taking you past
many islands and cays and beautiful beaches. Spend
the night on the southern end of the island, between
South Caicos and Long Cay. There is a Large Vessel Anchoring Zone (LVAZ) inside Big Cut. Distance: 75 miles
START: Blue Haven Marina, Providenciales.
DAY 3: Head east to Grand Turk. This is the island capital of Turks and Caicos and is both the historic and financial center. There main heritage attraction is the National Museum and there are things to do in the cruise
ship port. There is an anchor zone at the southern end
of Grand Turk. Distance: 22 miles
DAY 4: Take the short passage to the historic and rustic
island of Salt Cay. This is where time has stood still and
you can still see the preserved sites from when salt raking and the salt trade was the islands’ biggest economy
in the 1800s. There is an anchor zone on the western
side of the cay. Distance: 6.5 miles
DAY 2: Fort George Cay. LVAZ. Distance: 6.5 miles
DAY 3: Grace Bay. LVAZ. Distance: 7.5 miles
DAY 4: Northwest Point. LVAZ. Distance: 14 miles
DAY 5: West Caicos – south east end of the island
LVAZ. Distance: 14 miles
DAY 6: West Caicos – north western edge (vessels up
to 140ft can anchor inside the marina development.
Distance: 10 miles
DAY 7: Grace Bay and back to Blue Haven Marina.
Distance: 30 miles
5-DAY ITINERARY:
START: Blue Haven Marina, Providenciales
DAY 2: West Caicos. LVAZ. Distance: 30 miles
DAY 3: Northwest Point. LVAZ. Distance: 14 miles
DAY 5: The next recommended destination stop is the uninhabited island of Big Sand Cay. This small island is a designated bird sanctuary and also great for snorkeling. The
anchoring area is on the western side. Distance: 10 miles
DAY 4: Grace Bay. LVAZ.Distance: 12 miles
DAY 5: Fort George – 7.5 miles and back to Blue Haven
Marina. Distance: 6.5 miles

The islands are remarkably flat and there are plenty of
places to cycle and hire a bike if you don’t have your own.
Although extremely popular on Providenciales, the newly
paved roads of Middle and North Caicos connected by a
causeway make for an exciting day trip with some stunning bluffs overlooking the ocean.
