DEVIL NEWS - Darley Junior Football and Netball Club
DEVIL NEWS Last week the team at SALT (Sport and Life Training) spoke to the footballers and netballers from the under 14, under 16.5 and youth girls football teams and the under 15 and under 17 netball teams. The aim of the SALT program is to educate and empower youths involved in sporting clubs to create a strong, healthy and sustainable culture of players who are willing to care for each other both on and off the field. At the DJFNC we believe that this is of the upmost importance to our club and our players and hope that the players were able to take much away from this presentation and continue to support and respect themselves and each other. 2016 Interleague Congratulations to the following Devils on being selected to represent the BFNL in the 2016 interleague competition. We have a lot of players doing their bet but also too many just turning up. Effort = Reward. Does anyone know where Digger was on the weekend? Apparently he is unloading the ship. A huge shout out to Beth, Mikayla and Brianna for volunteering to play for the opposition due to extremely low numbers. It was a very unselfish act and showed your good sportsmanship character. Keep up the hard work but also enjoy your week off, you all earned it. See you all Wednesday 15th June back at training. Pete & Mel Football Photo Gallery Devil Netball Results Round __8_ UNDER 11 NETBALL Darley vs North Ballarat SENIORS Awards: Addison Wright and Macey O’Hehir Match Summary: You all showed great teamwork in the face of adversity today. It was most impressive to see you all walk off as a proud Darley team and it is clear that you always have each others backs. We still need to work on the way we react and respond to the whistle and that is something we will work on at training. See you Thursday, we look forward to coming back strong in round 9. Teresa, Vanessa and Belinda Darley vs Ballarat RESERVES Jasmine Black and Sienna Dugan Awards: Match Summary: Amazing shooting today girls. Every goal showed great skill and proved just how far you have all come. The flash of the camera seemed to leave us stunned this week. We let North Ballarat get too loose and often we were left watching them play the game. Our defence were tight and impressive and when all 7 players bring that intensity we can not be stopped. Train hard this week and bring your best for Sebastopol in Round 9. Teresa, Vanessa and Belinda UNDER 13 NETBALL SENIORS Darley 8 defeated by North Ballarat 54 Awards: Lilli Condon, Britney Ellis and Imogen Farrugia Match Summary: Out aim today was to play defensive netball, which I felt you did put the pressure on. We are going to practice using all 3 corridors down the court and stop playing so crowded and close to the ball. You should be proud of your efforts against a very strong side! Kirsti, Lynda and Tash RESERVES Darley 5 defeated by North Ballarat 47 Awards: Hollee Iredale, Jacinta Spinner and Isabella Di Meiri Match Summary: Your passing is improving girls and you are trying to move forward. We are going to practice going harder towards the ball at training. Overall you are having fun and you really are improving. Kirsti, Lynda and Tash UNDER 15 NETBALL SENIORS Darley 10 defeated by North Ballarat 36 Awards: Jaimee Smith Match Summary: Bad luck girls with North Ballarat proving to be too strong. Never the less, always something to take away from the game to move forward. Great defence from Jaimee and Melissa. Nichole and Deb RESERVES Darley 19 defeated by North Ballarat 30 Awards: Eliza Harris Match Summary: Unfortunately a loss today with North Ballarat proving too strong. Took half a game to warm up, which you have half an hour before you take the court to do. Passes and getting in front needs a lot of work, maybe hard work at training. Well done Keely on your 50 games with Darley and Eliza for being best on ground. Nichole and Deb UNDER 17 NETBALL SENIORS Darley 41 drew with North Ballarat 41 Awards: Maddy McGill and Abbey Solomon Match Summary: Bad luck girls but to your credit you didn't give up. Down by 6 with a few minutes to go and came away with a draw, you fought till the end. Best on court goes to Maddy McGill in the mid court. Marika, Sonia and Kylie RESERVES Darley 36 defeated by North Ballarat 21 Awards: Georgia Lane and Olivia Mills Match Summary: Started off very slow, we lifted after quarter time.
